#Republican Sen. Tommy #Tuberville to continue his block on military confirmations which impacts senior #military appointments in the #MiddleEast, as the #Pentagon moves to bolster its presence in the region amid the ongoing crisis in #Israel.
Tuberville says he won’t relent until the Pentagon revokes its policy of reimbursing service members for #HealthCare-related travel, which the senator has argued facilitates #abortions.
In the year since #RoeVWade was overturned, the #Republican Party has tested out constantly changing talking points & messages on #abortion in an attempt to make its anti-abortion policies sound less #extreme. #Conservatives are even considering moving away from the term “#ProLife,” fearing that voters have newly negative associations w/the label.
#Wisconsin legislators mentioned using a C-section & early labor, specifically.
In #Idaho, the ONLY exception to the #trauma of unnecessary #labor & delivery or #CSection is if the #woman’s life would be MORE at risk that way. In other words, instead of having minutes-long #abortions, #women will be forced by the state to endure major #surgeries or #traumatic vaginal deliveries, even if that seriously affects their physical & mental #health.
Like the push to have States make it difficult to have #abortions and after the baby is there fight hard to not offer support. To not help the unwanted child?
Someone needs to wack this goober with a waffle iron. It is the height of irresponsibility for a #Senator to block essential #military promotions because he doesn't like one of the military's policies. It's unthinkable that he would endanger the American military, and the nation in an attempt to force leaders to fulfill his irrational, ignorant, and narcissistic demands.
@todwest I don't give #Tuberville that much credit. He's so dumb that I don't believe he's capable of that level of strategy. I think what you see is what you get with him. He got it into his head that the military policy somehow means that military funding is going to pay for #abortions, even tho that's plainly not the case. He's stupid, and he's ignorant of the what these policies are, and how they relate to the budget. And the consequences of what he's doing just fly straight over his head.
Anti-choice states aren’t satisfied. Now they want to punish traveling for #abortions
How free can any woman be?
Over the past few weeks, as Republican officials in anti-choice states seek to make their #abortion bans enforceable and compel women into childbirth, a new front has opened up in the abortion wars: roads. The anti-choice movement, through a series of inventive legal theories and cynical legislative maneuvers, is now attacking women’s right to travel.
