I have taken part in the British Trust for Ornitholgy (BTO) Garden Birdwatch weekly bird counts for many years.
It's one of the biggest citizen science projects in the UK. It's easy to do and an invaluable resource for climate and environmental scientists.
Well! I've been up the reservoir two days running now and SO worth it for me. Yesterday my first male Crossbills popped onto a pine nearby and today ............ a Green Woodpecker, a first for me up here and ................ a Golden Eagle! Update, it may be a young White tailed. Taaaadaaaaah! I've been looking and hoping for many many moons! #bird#birds#scottishwildlife#wildlife#backwaterreservoir#scotland#BTO#RSPB#birdphotography#photography
SINGAPORE — The Build-to-Order (BTO) sales exercise for October saw an overall application rate of about 1.4 times its available supply, a few hours before applications for flats were slated to close on Tuesday (Oct 10) night.
The garden has been quite quiet recently as a lot of birds are keeping to themselves while they moult and replace their feathers. It was nice to this visitor, one of a pair. It is a Willow Warbler, very similar to a Chiffchaff. The easiest way to tell them apart it to listen to their song. #Birds#Nature#NaturePhotography#RSPB#BirdPhotograpy#BirdsSeenIn2023#BTO#BirdsofMastodon
The thing with #Starlings is that they are amazingly striking birds during spring and look incredible in sunlight. They are also like the piranhas of the bird world at this time, flocking to food with their young and devouring every last bit in seconds! #Birds#Nature#NaturePhotography#RSPB#BirdPhotograpy#BirdsSeenIn2023#BTO
