Illustrateur britannique spécialisé dans les scènes de SF. Son style est très reconnaissable, il utilise des couleurs vives, des décos de vaisseaux très colorées.

I'd always known about #ChrisFoss; back in the 80s it was impossible to buy #SpaceOpera without his art. But I never realised that, like me, he is from #Guernsey. Then I came across "Surrealist Defences" in the island museum. I recognised it, both as Chris Foss, and because that is the #German observation tower at L'Erée (pron "leRAY"). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Saumarez. Fort Saumarez on the west coast of Guernsey. On small hill there is a cylindrical watchtower with 4 horizontal slots for watchers to see from. The upper three quarters of the tower is concrete, but the lower part is local granite, showing that the Germans built on top of the pre-existing Napoleonic fort. On top of the tower are 4 radio antennae. Below the tower are walls and smaller buildings, also in a mix of German and Napoleonic. In the foreground is a large concrete block which appears to have been a gun mounting of some kind, but the hill is heavily overgrown and only one corner can be seen.
