Okay #plant people, I bought five #elderberry cuttings in June and this is the only one to survive. I have it in a pot with stones around it to deter the slugs which are particularly ravenous this year. I was instructed to plant it in the ground in the fall but I've read conflicting advice that says to plant it in the spring (I am in coastal #Maine, USDA Hardiness Zone 5b, first frost predicted to be October 12 this year). Any sage #gardening advice for me?
