For the month of October, I'm participating in the annual #inktober drawing challenge. I'll be following some of the official Inktober prompts, but mostly the SciArt Inktober prompts. I will also be giving up my colorful inks and restricting myself to black ink.
Today, I'm following the #SciArtInktober prompt "lipid" and drawing some phospholipids.
1/ Truth is an exhibition of #GenerativeArt projects on #feralfile. Curated by @ajberni, it is centered around the overarching theme of ambiguity of scales and dimensions.
Seven artists created images with impressive levels of detail and beauty that visualize the interconnectedness of the world surrounding us. By challenging our perception of scale and boundaries, they explore the concept of “inner truth”.
I used to use the #AIArt hashtag for the art I post on social media that was machine generated. But no longer ...
The current systems are not intelligent — they are just statistical predictive systems.
I now use the hashtag #GenerativeArt for my machine learning generated art. I think that might be a better description? I don't know that for sure, but it certainly feels better than continuing to use the #AIArt tag 😛
My first #PortfolioDay! I’m Paul and I’m an artist that uses modern code to create unique works using vintage pen plotters, which I also collect and repair as needed. My works are typically in CMY color but I also do monochrome or other specialty inks. I can do up to 36”x48”.
When looking at @pxlshrd's portfolio, the use of colours and the overarching narrative of the interconnectedness of things stand out.
His unique palettes remind me of rust, acid, and lilac, and the multitude of #GenerativeArt projects that he released on #fxhash explore networks on microscopic and cosmic scales.
I took a deep dive into @pxlshrd's artwork and wrote an article about it:
My first large plot in many months: a new Carousel, about 5 hours in, about 2 hours remaining. Cyan and yellow are down, magenta going down now, and finally black. Python generated and plotted on a vintage HP DraftPro DXL on 24”x36” watercolor paper.
"Tur" consists of 444 mostly black and white images of mysterious, solitary towers in desolate landscapes. The artists used AI to generate the images based on hand-drawn architectural sketches.
👋 Hi! I'm very excited/relieved to share my updated portfolio website. It includes some new projects, including my 'Digital Organics' series with limited edition prints available for purchase.
Also, discover the 'Vistas' series, exploring the unease of venturing into unknown territories.
Still plotting large works, this time from the CMY Tangled Plus series. If you look closely, you can see it’s created from a structure of tessellated plus signs and hatched with CMY inks. This one is great seen from a distance as well as mesmerizing to see up close.
24”x36” watercolor with a vintage HP pen plotter, created and plotter with Python. 10 hours of plot time.
Today's prompt is "Particles", and I've posted some of my thinking and images my code produced on my Patreon and Ko-fi. These are public posts, not just for my suporters:
I’ve been #RetroComputing for a while now but I wanted to do a little #PenPlotter today since I’m participating in #ptpx this year. Here’s an idea I’ve wanted to implement for a while. Designed in Python, plotter on a HP 7550 Plus vintage plotter.
1/ Following up on my write–up about Quasi Dragon Studies (QDS) by Harvey Rayner, here is the thread about recent #GenerativeArt projects that I originally intended to write.
2 Free wallpapers for you to use, also uploaded to my Ko-fi completely uncompressed here: https://ko-fi.com/i/II2I3TIMNS
If you're viewing this on Lemmy, click the original Fediverse link to see both wallpapers and/or my Ko-fi link to download them uncompressed because I post from Mastodon, which compresses the image upon uploading.
