By the way, the German word for "mullet" (the hairstyle) is "Vokuhila" (foh-coo-HEE-luh), and it's short for "vorne kurz, hinten lang" which literally means "short at the front, long at the back".
And no, this is not an April Fools' joke, it's already 12:08am on April 2 here in Germany :P
I'm fully aware of the pretentiousness of this attitude, but I can't help it.
I have a difficult time taking you and your mullet seriously. Especially if you have a mustache (and or mutton chops), which almost inevitably does not work on your face. Add to that a big trucker hat, and I won't be able to look you in the face without wondering how many broken down vehicles you have parked in front of your RV, which hasn't moved in twelve years.
A teeny wee baby, Thicklip grey mullet (Chelon labrosus) - although adults are common in Irish inshore waters and estuaries throughout the summer months they are rarely targeted as a food species and fished mainly for sport.

I was melting due to heat and anxiety 🥵, but three good things first:
✨ I survived
✨ I passed a personal milestone (first haircut at a different place after I moved out of my parents' place 7-8 years ago!);
✨ My head feels much cooler now.
However... I'm not sure whether this cut was really what I wanted. I could barely speak, but at least she partially managed to interpret my incoherent utterances. The most important misunderstanding was that I wanted the back of my hair to remain much longer; it'll take months to let it grow out again...
Gender-wise, it looks a bit ambiguous, but much more boyish than girlish (I wanted to skew it more towards the tomboyish side of ambiguity). Perhaps managing the heat is more important at the moment, since I don't really want to 'pass' as anything. I think some other non-binary people already recognize me as such (regardless of haircuts), which is 🆒
I managed to make a phone call and I finally got an appointment at a haircutter! Now I have one and a half week to decide which kind of hair cut I want...

@timrichards@simonvarwell Mullets are rather prevalent in Ireland, they’ve been slowly building in popularity over the last five years or so. Seems to be two branches, the ironic hipster mullet and country farmer mullet. Was in NI a couple of weeks ago playing at an agricultural show and there were loads of the latter. I’ve started to see them make an appearance in Scotland now. Funnily enough haven’t seen a single mullet in France, Spain or Italy this year. #Mullet
