Currently getting the run around between and trying to work out who is responsible for the fact their is no coverage for meters where I live. Of the 2.5MWh the household has consumed from the grid this year alone I've sent 1.5MWh back into the grid. There are only so many free showers I can have by diverting the spare energy into my hot water tank!

The out of spec mains utility voltage for several villages around this area last week is really visible on the 7 day graph.

Today most of the local networks I monitor spent the day in "Smart Trim" mode as the grid voltage hit 262volts in one location! (257.59volts in another, 255.97volts another and 257.94volts in the final location)
Should I be worried. (These are all several miles apart).

I've just noticed that whatever happened to the grid last Saturday also caused my Solar Inverter(s) to trip out!

It tells us all we need to know about the state of the nation, when the is glad to report that due to other countries have good storage, there is less liklihood of this ... once again we are reliant on the kindness of strangers, but if we keep setting fire to our international reputation we may find such kindness is either more expensive, or less evident...

We already know that slow completion of network connections to the #nationalgrid is slowing the development & deployment of #renewableenergy production across the UK.

Now it seems this is also slowing the expansion of the #electricvehicles #charging network required for the accelerated shift away from #petrol & #diesel cars.

Another privatised #utility is not doing what it needs to be doing because its attention is not on #infrastructure provision but on rent extraction!

Seeing a pattern?

Q. how do you balance the building needed for the & local needs (views) articulated through the planning system?

Though there is a certain amount on NIMBYism in planning problems encountered by 's moves to upgrade the UK's distribution network, there is also a need to design facilities to better meet local's demands not to have their locality disfigured.

If we cannot answer this question in a manner, we're stuffed!

Renewable energy projects worth billions stuck on hold

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-65500339

Why wasn't this thought about?

Some serious work to be done on the National Grid to make it fit for purpose.

Single point of failure in the form of lack of infrastructure.

You have to invest before you can reap the rewards.
