Currently getting the run around between #eon and #nationalgrid trying to work out who is responsible for the fact their is no #wan coverage for #smart meters where I live. Of the 2.5MWh the household has consumed from the grid this year alone I've sent 1.5MWh back into the grid. There are only so many free showers I can have by diverting the spare energy into my hot water tank!
The out of spec mains utility voltage for several villages around this area last week is really visible on the 7 day graph. #NationalGrid#UKPowerNetworks
Today most of the local networks I monitor spent the day in "Smart Trim" mode as the grid voltage hit 262volts in one location! (257.59volts in another, 255.97volts another and 257.94volts in the final location)
Should I be worried. (These are all several miles apart). #NationalGrid#UKEnergyGrid#OctopusEnergy
"#NationalGrid said on Wednesday it would invest more than $4 billion to improve #NewYork's infrastructure to meet growing demand for more reliable and cleaner energy.
It would be the company's largest investment in the state's electricity transmission system, most of which was built more than a century ago."

It tells us all we need to know about the state of the nation, when the #NationalGrid is glad to report that due to other countries have good #gas storage, there is less liklihood of #powercuts this #winter... once again we are reliant on the kindness of strangers, but if we keep setting fire to our international reputation we may find such kindness is either more expensive, or less evident... #headinmyhands
We already know that slow completion of network connections to the #nationalgrid is slowing the development & deployment of #renewableenergy production across the UK.
Q. how do you balance the #infrastructure building needed for the #GreenTransition & local needs (views) articulated through the planning system?
Though there is a certain amount on NIMBYism in planning problems encountered by #nationalgrid's moves to upgrade the UK's #electricity distribution network, there is also a need to design facilities to better meet local's demands not to have their locality disfigured.
If we cannot answer this question in a #democratic manner, we're stuffed!
