You guys know I have #PsoriaticSpondylitis , which is basically #PsoriaticArthritis that affects my spine & SI joints. Outside of that, it rly jacks w/ a couple of organs (liver & lungs) & my nails.Oh, my poor nails. They're a MESS--brittle, thin, weak, & w/ ridges that constantly split & bleed. I used to wear acrylic nails, but they're just so unhealthy. Plus, they're expensive & require a 3 hr round trip to have them done every month. +
So I'm signed up with the specialty medicine department of my pharmacy group. For the shots that have to be refrigerated, because they come in the mail not from the local store.
There are questions about how much support I need, because having a chronic illness can be difficult (yup). One question asks if I have a place to meditate or a worship place. I thought about having to be outside of church for almost 4 years now, which has helped me avoid Covid this entire time. But not getting real support in this area hurts.
I’m taking an Instagram break until after the holidays. You bastards are stuck with me though.
I’m having pain issues and need to self care. (I’ll be seeing my rheumy on the 21st, I can guarantee a switch in meds). I’m also needing to get more support in my life, both emotional and kindness, and possibly house help. But the latter is tricky in this pandemic.

Nice day at church. Pain meds kicked in enough to get there. Ran inside to venerate very quickly (with tight fitting N95 on) for 2 minutes 🤣! The thrill! Sat outside and talked to friends.
This increase in Sulfasalizine is giving me agita, and I don’t normally have a problem with acid reflux. Gotta tell doctor. I don’t like it. #psoriaticarthritis
There is a second research study showing possible autoimmune curative treatment that avoids wide spread immuno suppression in patients.
The previous one was regarding a "reverse vaccine". Are there any rheumatologists or researchers on here that can explain these findings in layperson terms?
I have not said it much in public, but I think I can’t keep it mostly private anymore.
For the past 1 year-plus (since April of 2022), I have been afflicted by a nasty skin rash that has slowly migrated from my neck and arms to my hands, and has stubbornly stayed there ever since.
I have started seeing a doctor for it since late last year, but it seems like nothing is making it go away for good.

My hands used to look like yours in winter, (and it is SO painful, they would just spontaneously develop all these cuts!) but there is a soap they use in hospitals called ‘Microshield Handwash’ which has been wonderful for my hands. You have to buy it from a medical supply shop tho.
About 8 years ago I suddenly developed terrible pain in my joints, I had been running every night, then suddenly I couldn’t walk.

I had developed Psoriatic Arthritis, which they treat with some heavy duty drugs. I agreed to take them, and they told me that a side effect is that they ‘cure’ skin Psoriasis, and it's true, my skin is now clear!
You can take these drugs for skin Psoriasis as well.
I am on a 'biologic' weekly injection called Etanercept, and also used to be on weekly injections of Methotrexate; they work!
