So I recently learned that Israeli PM Netanyahu strengthened Hamas because he didn't want the Palestinian Authority (a rival leadership to Hamas) to lead. This is because the Palestinian Authority could agree to a two-state solution, while Hamas was adamantly against it. Netanyahu is also against a two-state solution. So by setting up Hamas, he was setting up his desired war for full Israeli takeover. The current situation, and Israeli deaths are partly his responsibility because his enabling of Hamas led to the attack.
Why are North American news (all are in Israel) not interviewing Israelis, beyond hostage and Kibbutz families? There is growing political tensions on the ground, people have a lot to say. #journalism

The 2 ldrs said the new govt would pursue only bills or decisions concerning the #conflict, which has prompted Israel to mass troops near the Gaza Strip & call up #reservists ahead of an offensive against #Hamas militants.
#Israel’s military announced that the country’s border is under control after hours of fighting & airstrikes Tues. BrigGen Dan Goldfuss of the 98th Div said the military is now “moving into the offensive … to change the reality within #Gaza to prevent such a thing from happening again.” Israel has called up tens of thousands of #reservists to fight since the unprecedented cross-border assault by #Hamas militants over the wknd.
Biden orders 3,000 reservists to be ready for European deployments. It's unclear whether troops will actually be deployed but suggests that U.S. military presence in Europe is under strain.
