The latest model aircraft completed for the 1940 obsession. This year, I’m concentrating on RAF Bomber Command. An important British plane of World War Two was the Vickers Wellington. Over 11,000 were built up to 1945.
Built from the recent Airfix kit, which features a fully-detailed interior, my model represents a Wellington of No 311 (Czechoslovak) Squadron, flying from a base in Suffolk.
#PortfolioDay Not sure if I should be included amongst all you amazing artists. My name is Matt. I’m a #ScaleModel builder from #Scotland. I mostly build models of ships from #StarTrek, and occasionally other sci-fi movies & TV.
I placed the finished chimney and the steam dome on top of the boiler to try it out (without gluing it yet). It starts to look like a train. Also, I'm past two thirds of numbered parts, the end is nigh (in 3-4 months). #papercraft#train#scalemodel#wip
Tada! Here is the completed load on the flat car. I think it turned out pretty well. I learned a few things that I would do differently next time, mostly trying to be more careful to keep the things straight and more unform (but not too uniform).
The "not Spinner" from Blade Runner 2049. Scale model replica.
Matchbox/Hotwheels (1:64) scale.
Sculpted in epoxy putty, plus some convenient shapes of plastic.
Cotton wool hides the flight stand and calls back to the original Spinner of Blade Runner.
The orange of the windows is a reference to the film.
As designed, the door for my hut kit includes a hinge and can be opened.
This allows you to see what you have placed inside, as an alternative to a removable roof... or a big hole in the wall, which you can also have with a little modelling skill.
Along this side of the HAW206 tank, I graffitied the Japanese for Testation; the title of the episode of Ghost in the Shell SAC that the tank is featured in.
I also added various other signs and symbols about the model to give it a real world feel.
This hut was created for a friendly contest with the condition that the model was made from recycled materials.
The base is an old CD,
The texturing is dried paint,
The roof is scrap card,
The cloth above the doorway is old climbing tape,
And everything else is made from plastic sprue...
How do you like your eggs?
With a hug? of your face...
This pair of Alien eggs were sculpted by hand and are about the size of a chicken's egg.
The facehugger is sculpted from epoxy putty, with legs made of plastic rod pieces with blobs of glue for the knuckles.
More angles of the Westland Lynx HMA-8 Airfix model.
I put what I had learnt from miniature painting into the paint job on this; without it would have just got block paint colours, this has shading and blending and washes, etc.
