Uneventfully home from 2.5 weeks visiting family and travelling a bit in Thailand during its hottest time of the year - 40 degrees or over every day up in the North East where we visited Buriram and, at long last, Khon Kaen; high 30s in Bangkok every day. I’m looking forward to jeans and a jacket, once more. Photos will be up soon for wider public consumption - I’ve got a bit of processing to do of the ones from the “nice” camera.

You know what we’ve never had in the arc of history from the Dot Com Boom and Pets dot com, to the mobile web and “there’s an app for that”, to Web 3.0 and crypto and the metaverse and AI chatbots telling you everything?
We’ve never had a “waiting room” app or website. It could sign up doctors’ surgeries and dentists and hospitals, and over the last 25 years it would’ve informed you of the BARE MINIMUM of information “you have X mins remaining / are required to return to the waiting room / have progressed to X in the queue”
In 1998 that would have been via dial-in automated voice. In 2003 it would have sent you an SMS. In 2008 it would have been with an app on your smartphone. In 2013 it would have been with a really good app — giving walking directions, ETA on demand, and notifying each other of location. In 2018 it would have been with an optional watch app so you don’t miss your appointment and can work in an office while “waiting for a doctor”. #waiting#waitingroom#waitingpatiently

I was chatting with dear Penny bun and her post made me wonder what the bedtimes of my other friends are. Do our piggy and bun and other friends like going to bed at the same time? My bedtime is 9:40 ish on weeknights but later on Friday and Saturday. 🌙 🛏️ 🐰
#Weird. Thinking back now, all of our #buns -- 7 plus 5 foster kits - all went to #bed at roughly the same #time, and that time is around 10pm. I'm like you; I go to bed at 10pm during the week, later on Friday/Saturday.
If I'm staying up later than usual, #Lena will usually get tired of #waiting and put herself to bed and wait for #toast in her #cage. [1]
[1] I generally close her up in her (large, roomy, and carpeted) cage at night so she doesn't #burn the #house down...
