Keine Termine - der Tag darf langsam zusammen mit dem Kaffee in mich hineinschlürfen...
Heute am späteren Nachmittag ist noch ein Abstecher zum Baumarkt geplant, um Erde und Balkonkästen für den sommerlichen Blumenschmuck zu besorgen 🌺🌸.
Die Pflanzen kaufen wir morgen in der Gärtnerei - mehr Auswahl, bessere Qualität und Beratung. #HaveANiceDay 😍 💚🌻🍀
Wir können nicht genug davon bekommen. 😅 Dazu haben wir uns heute aber auch mal wieder eine vegane TK-Pizza gegönnt und als Nachtisch gibt es veganen Vanillejoghurt mit Apfel und selbstgemachtem Granola. 😋

Die deutsche Bahn verursacht mal wieder Freude im Leben - eine geplante Fahrt muss verschoben werden: Navigator App sagt: Zug fällt aus. Verabredungen neu treffen, neue Verbindung suchen - und dann wundert sich Herr Wissing, weil er seine CO2 Ziele reißt. Ich könnte auch das Auto nehmen, will aber nicht, weil es eine sehr stauanfällige Strecke ist.

Auf mich wartet der Zahnarzt mit seinen Folterinstrumenten - ich hoffe es bleibt beim Durchgucken und Zahnstein entfernen.
Den Rest des verregneten Tages werde ich am Rechner verbringen und an einem ganz besonderen Fotobuch arbeiten.

Wenn Meinungsumfragen zum Ergebnis kommen, die #Migration wäre das größte Problem des Landes, hat sich was verschoben in der Wahrnehmung bzgl. Ursache und Wirkung.
Auslöser der Wanderungen ist nicht nur die #Armut, sondern auch #Kriege um #Rohstoffe, und nicht zuletzt der #Klimawandel.
Mich ärgert, dass ein großer Teil der Medien in diese von den Populisten gestellte Falle tappt.

Lex was tricky this year. It's bad luck to toast with water, and she doesn't like any beverages with bubbles. We inadvertently landed on mimosa ingredients, which is a trend I can wholeheartedly support. I really should drink more mimosas in 2024.

Guys, I just made TOAST! Carnivore TOAST! There's a whole story about it on my site (link below) but if you're like me you'll skip to the recipe anyway - hahaha - so here it is, copied & pasted:
"I don't measure anything. I rarely follow recipes. I go by the seat of my pants when I cook. So I can share the approximate amounts of each ingredient that I used. But it's only a guide and certainly not written in stone. Feel free to use your own pants if you try this!
"I have a limited selection of baking dishes so I just chose a regular (Pyrex) loaf pan and buttered it, then set it aside. And I preheated my oven to 350°F.
"In a bowl I mixed together thoroughly about 1/3c of egg whites, 2T of full-fat Greek yogurt, and a Tbsp of oil (avacado in this case). When it was smooth, I added about 1/4c of chicken flour, 3 turns of pink salt, 1/4 tsp of xanthan gum, 2 tsps of beef gelatin, and 2 tsps of yeast (for the scent), and mixed it all until very smooth and creamy. Finally, I added a rounded teaspoon of baking powder from which I'd smashed out the clumps; mixed that into the batter quickly, scraped it into my loaf pan (it was only about an inch high), and put it in the oven.
"20 minutes later it was done and I put the whole pan on a cooling rack; about 20 minutes after that I was able to easily and cleanly lift the loaf out, cut it in half across the middle, then slice each half through the center to create 4 slices of more-or-less square bread."
(which I then toasted, the way my Gram taught me!)
Oh yes! My first meal today is quite a pleasant surprise!
Ya know those 90-second microwave "breads" that have been around forever? I wanted toast, so I was going to make one. But I just didn't want the almond flour, so I subbed it with a 1:1:1 mix of green-can-parm, pork panko, and whey protein instead, to carnivore it up. SUPERB!
But wait! There's more! I "toasted" (fried) it in some leftover burger fat from last night...and then melted butter over it. WOW! I can't wait to try it in duck fat. Or bacon fat.
