IIRC, the story of Peter Frampton’s famous “lost and found” 54 Les Paul started with a hollow body. He couldn’t get enough volume out of it at The Fillmore without it feeding back, so a fan lent him the Les Paul and wouldn’t take it back.

May not have been that particular model, though.

eta: Peter’s guitar was a Gibson ES-335.

@historyofpunkrock a weird one for sure. Only six songs, well actually five, with the dialog between. Thrash Metal. Even though I like the W.O.W. albums this is a nice return to the more intense punk/thrash. Still unique musically.
