@kaiserkiwi in all of these scenarios, where they want to make photorealistic deep fakes, i just ask myself: why?

like, why make this? is there any benefit in this for humanity? because i still havent found a possible answer.

all this will do, once it crosses a certain threshold, is creating possibly false evidence to wrongly convict someone in court and other horrible scenarios.

i can second the sentiment of not making tech nerds write grant applications.

hell, i cant even write a proper well understandable description of what my projects do. im an engineer, not a marketing person.

i feel like this is a shared problem with a lot of people. they can make technologically impressive things but as soon as it comes to marketing it, it falls short.

@erlend @hongminhee If there is interest, we can totally chat about it. I think there are some nice bridges like napi that offer a nice binding between NodeJS <-> Rust, but I'm not sure about Deno (or if having a Node.js plugin would be good enough?)

the wasm mrf thing has taken an interesting turn. the name, version, api version, etc are now gonna be encoded in a manifest, and the manifest is embedded into a custom section inside the wasm component.

it's actually not that bad to parse it.
