The weirdest thing of the (absolutely cringeworthy) Wolverine "silence your phones" preamble video is that I don't think I've heard a ringtone in like 10 years.
Everyone has their phone on vibrate now, I think I'd find it downright embarrassing if someone's phone ACTUALLY rang in any public place, everyone would look at them and they'd be fumbling over themselves to quiet it.
The screen lighting up in a dark theater from someone reading a text is another matter, but silencing won't do squat.

My phone is silent most of the time. Not even on vibrate. I hate calls so I block all except from very important people or if someone tries it 3 times.
I put my phone in a bag but most of the time it's in my hand.
Only every 7 weeks I set it to loud for one week because of work. The ringtone then is really loud and annoying to make sure I'll wake up in case of a call. But in such a week I wouldn't go into a cinema.

I don't want Google to have all my login credentials and I don't want to scan a QR code with my phone at any login. I also don't want to buy extra hardware.
It's annoying to click accept on my phone for 2FA to connect to the VPN. But it's the vpn. I don't want to get my phone for any Website.
The copy&paste or autofill from my password manager is more comfortable.

@pallenberg ich überlege ja ob die Fahrverbote nicht eigentlich gut wären.
Klar sie tun am Anfang richtig weh und der Wissing sagt es nur, um Stimmung gegen CO2 Senkung im Verkehrsbereich zu machen.
Aber die langfristigen Effekte...
Die Leute wollen ja trotzdem am WE von A nach B.

Welchen Smart Plug mit Stromverbrauchsmessung möchte eins aktuell kaufen?
Zigbee oder WiFi erstmal egal, Zigbee wäre allerdings bevorzugt, wenn die Hue-Bridge ausreicht.
Hier läuft ein #homeassistant , dort sollte der Plug steuerbar sein und der Stromverbrauch des angeschlossenen Geräts zumindest über ein paar Tage historisch aufgezeichnet werden.
Ich habe diverse Infos im Netz gefunden, die meisten sehen allerdings eher nach längerer Bastelei aus.
Preislich sollte die Sache bei max. 20 Euro pro Stecker liegen.
Für sachdienliche Hinweise wird Euch mein Dank ewiglich verfolgen. 😉

Ich bin damit eigentlich bisher sehr zufrieden.
Nur manchmal gehen lampen von selbst an oder aus (die aber auch mit so einem plug gesteuert werden). Ich müsste mal schauen ob man was dazu im log sieht. Meine bessere Hälfte hat mir erzählt, dass er dazu was gelesen hatte.

Beim Erwerb einer gebrauchten Hardware mit Windows 11 Lizenz, macht es Sinn den Produktschlüssel auszulesen. Dann kann man sich getrost von Windows verabschieden und ein komfortables Linux installieren.
@gnulinux was hat denn die ubuntu-server Installation mit dem auslesen des Keys zu tun?
Und ist ein gebrauchter win11 Key nicht an die Hardware gebunden?
@fasnix@ueckueck ich glaube da müsste kaum etwas angepasst werden. Also am Betriebssystem. Sollten Spezialanwendungen eingesetzt werden, dann bräuchten diese evtl eine Anpassung oder man macht Webanwendungen daraus. Dann wären sie betriebssystemunabhängig (zumindest auf Clientseite).
Für Anwendungen wie E-Mail-Client und Office-Suiten gibt es bereits genug Auswahl.

@nixCraft bugs in gpaste like choosing an entry with space or enter triggers these buttons many more times and leads to a lot of wrong input.
And graphic errors with Nvidia and Wayland. Areas are going randomly black and coming back.
Also the lack of compatibility with Lenovo Dockingstations. There is only a Debian package with the driver. So you have to unpack it and install it manually and repeat this after every kernel update.
Also firmware updates for headsets and other devices.
@kubikpixel I tried taskwarrior for a few days, I also tried nextcloud decks but I can't handle Todo lists.
Mostly I use my brain and browser tabs. Most of my tasks are in a Ticketsystem so having the ticket open as a browser tab helps me to not forget about it.
Todo lists for me are something more to do every day. You have to fill them and read them and decide if a task is done. And if you get feedback that the task needs more work you have to re-add it to the list.
