Folks, I know… I use Duck Duck Go also but remember they have venture capital. Enjoy it while it lasts (or let’s fund and build alternatives differently that aren’t temporary businesses with profit motives and exits but commons-owned institutions working for the common good).

@aral In particular, the "10k short" optic (found in Settings->Manage Optics), which removes the 10,000 most popular sites seems like a cool way of surfacing stuff that wouldn't normally be visible

What's going on here? Oh, just some magpies holding hands (feet) while their siblings look on/bear witness.

I most often see this behaviour from juveniles during play, but the two here are older. I sat with them for about half an hour before they decided it was time to do other things.

I'm excited to see @AdventureJam having some more official presence on the Fediverse thanks to @sayomgwtf

Long-time followers will know that this is one of my favourite jams, and I've been glad to lend a hand for the better part of a decade. I'm looking forward to seeing its growth over the coming years!

From May 27th through to the end of June 9th UTC - two weeks to make an adventure game, flex some puzzle/story muscles, and maybe learn something along the way :)

Anybody out there happen to know of current manufacturers of wired (3.5mm) bone conduction headphones? Search engines are useless these days and all the popular manufacturers of these kinds of devices are obsessed with sticking batteries in everything.

A couple weeks back, I was cutting down a tree that's too close to my house when I found a nest with eggs in it and decided to leave the job half done.

This afternoon, I saw an occupant (spotted doves don't leave the nest till they've got grownup feathers, so this is a rare sight for me)

I met some morning friends

For the past couple months, I've been working on developing Bonesweeper into a bigger game, with the support of a grant from Screen Tasmania! I want to share as much of the process as I can. Keep an eye to this thread in the weeks and months to come! :)

While working on a visualisation of the new non-square dig site generation stuff for the upcoming dev log video, this shape came up and made me think of a steg. It was nice to take a break and draw this little friend for fun

That exact same shape painted to be a green stegosaurus. The bottom left protrusion becomes the tail, the top right protrosion the head, and the bumps along the bottom legs to make a stegosaurus rearing up. Breaking out of the original shape is a long tongue poking out, two thagomizer spikes, and a row of plates along its back. Flower dotted grass covers the ground, and the background suggests a dirt cliff face.

And a native Australian ant called an inchman. This one was a biggun, easily 25mm long, which is about as big as they get.

This one was wending its way along a footpath toward me, and it wasn't until I stood up that I noticed I was A Thing, and immediately adopted a defensive posture. I told it I was a friend and stepped away, and it calmed down and continued on about its business. Have a lovely day, ant-friend.
