Just a reminder in this age of extreme weather events, Trump wanted to monetize NOAA data. If he had been successful, weather alerts and advanced warning systems would have been behind a paywall.

Read RethinkX's Energy Report
htts://rethinkx.com/energy It talks of huge amounts of extreme low cost energy from properly built out solar & wind generation with battery backup. The costs for solar, wind, and backup battery systems are getting very low cost. Over building solar and wind generation allows most day to be supplied by current generation. Batteries are only needed for extended low generation periods. On days when generation is maximal, there will be lots of excess.
During this war, Russia has launched 5628 Shahed-136 drones towards Ukraine.
That is 5628 times, civilians have heard a buzzing moped engine in the sky, and seen the Shahed-136 strike a civilian home, a power plant, or a school with its 50 kilogram warhead.
For comparison, Hitler struck London with 2857 V1 and V2 rockets — half as many.
I simply do not know what to tell future generations when they ask, why we did not stop the Russian terror.
Trump's undoing is the sycophantic lying crowd that surrounds him. He has no idea how much of the world hates him. If he had he would never have agreed to speak to the libertarians.
Cities Are Switching to Electric Vehicles Faster Than Individuals.
Electric trucks and sedans have proven popular with municipal fleets, but cities have also bought niche vehicles such as an electric Zamboni. #ClimateChange
@ClimateNewsNow
For towns and cities they make sense right now. For under $55,000 one can get a base car that will solidly do 0-60 MPH in 3.5 seconds, and 155 MPH top speed. That's a stock Tesla Model Y Performance you can buy now. An up-fitter can turn that into an excellent police car.
Charging can be mostly done over night with standard level two charges. Mid day top ups can be done with DC fast chargers if needed.
Saw flashes of light on the horizon. Wet roads will meet all the concert goers as they flee town. Storms are popping up along all major routes out of town.
We got all the furniture into the POD and now have to pack what's remaining in the kitchen. So things are a little messy
Our twins are down from Canada helping, & their dear friend is here for the night from San Diego, to see them. We adore her. But it's a little chaotic
At 4:30 am we get a text--coincidentally we're awake--from our pal/realtor! We'd missed her earlier text, we have a showing today at 12:30. Oy. & why was SHE up?
@GottaLaff
You're reminding me of the main move out of the Long Island home. We had the house on the market for close to 2 years, but this was only 2 months in. In the middle of filling yet another u-haul, we had three showings. Obviously didn't sell to any of them. It took over a year more before it sold. One of the people who helped us move out that day eventually bought it. It had quiet and safe beach access for a newly wed celebrity couple. Plus they already knew some in the development.
One of the reasons for the invisibility of #AntiAsianRacism is inextricably connected to #ModelMinorityMyth. The myth focuses on #stereotypes of #Asians as hard-working, independent, intelligent & economically prosperous.
Stereotypes hide many issues & disappears the realities of working-class #AsianWomen’s lives.
@msquebanh #fetishization of unusual traits goes back eons. It is surprising how often somebody's unusual hair and skin traits are highlighted in the earliest literature. As somebody who has calico hair, and got treated different due to it. I got very sensitized to mentions of differences in literature.
The Co-Op Live Arena, already dogged by delays & problems, tonight has had to cancel the Nicki Minaj concert after she was detained by police at Schipol (and only released way to late for the show to go ahead).
You wouldn't want to be the venue's insurers, now would you?
A genuinely thick fog is consuming San Francisco -- quite a rare event in these times. I'm standing outside accumulating moisture in my clothes and hair. #sanfrancisco
@annaleen
What happened? I remember fogs all the time when I was on the bay side. What is it doing to the ecology? I figured the fog was a major source of water for many native plants.
“If you want to do a job that’s kinda like a hobby, you can do a job,” Musk said. “But otherwise, AI and the robots will provide any goods and services that you want.”
@Tom_Joad@noondlyt
Somebody can install a part or pick a berry, but not know what the parts or food is. Current "AI" robots can do that. Yeah, I know they aren't intelligent. I've been known to call them Artificial Idiots. They can do complex tasks that have loosely defined specifications. The complexity of the tasks they can do will increase fast.
