Am very grateful that people I follow on mastadon are good and clever but also don't mind telling me when I am wrong / biased in the most agreeable ways - so I can stop and go 'No in this instance I AM the Asshole' and so strive to do better.
@Faintdreams Yeah, there's a particular way of leaving stuff out which will be filled in by the actors, the set dressers, or the special effects department, which is very hard not to notice once one has spotted it.
@Faintdreams I like both of these topics a lot too! (Though it’s hard if something plays too fast and loose with the history or specifically the clothing, which has been my particular interest.)
Me :: Silently ponders how publicly admitting I like vampire fiction will cause people to shun me when I know for a FACT that liking vampire fiction is almost normcore in it's universality ::
@Faintdreams
It's no big deal; I imagined we'd mention stuff as it came to us. I have not been making a list, though I'd like to see what you recommend to me first before I recommend anything else.
(Anyway, I made two recommendations already.)
(Also, I am not diagnosed as autistic, or any autism spectrum-related condition, but I believe I experience anxiety similar to PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance/Persistent Drive for Autonomy), so I try not to make things feel like obligations.)
Regarding my last re-toot and the AI created pop tune to convince people that (re-introduction of) National Service (conscription) is a good thing, YUP that's PRECISELY THE DYSTOPIAN SHIT I IMAGINED THIS TECH would mostly be used for.
Book 19 - 2024 (cont) "Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins - Beauregard Lionett"
Graphic Novel
My one (tiny) complaint is that at 52 pages it felt a little short - but it's a quality bound, small format hard cover, and does have 4 back pages of character development sketches.
I think I'm just used to books that are Sandman / Saga length, and those are prob not representative of the averge Trade Paperback/Hardback comic any more
