A former US military intelligence official released a letter on Monday that explained to his colleagues at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that his November resignation was in fact due to “moral injury” stemming from US support for Israel’s war in Gaza and the harm caused to Palestinians.

Harrison Mann, an army major, would be the first known DIA official to quit over US support to Israel.

Man said he felt shame and guilt for helping advance US policy that he said contributed to the mass killing of Palestinians.

“At some point, whatever the justification, you’re either advancing a policy that enables the mass starvation of children, or you’re not,” Mann wrote.

What started as a peaceful walkout this morning by hundreds of university staff, professors, lecturers in protest against police violence against students last week is now developing and escalating once again.

The riot police are here, hundreds of them are blocking the entrance to the university. After the university staff finished their rally, the students went in and they have built some tents right into the main hall.

The police are now coming in and [the students] are trying to block the police. They managed for a few minutes but now the police car van is driving towards the entrance and everyone here is very much hoping that the same scenario that happened last week is not repeated here.

The protests are against the war in Gaza and they’re also demanding the university to cut ties with Israeli universities but also to protest against police violence and what they say is a violation of their rights to demonstrate.

So far I’ve only seen peaceful protesters and the police is coming in and of course, there’s a lot of trauma after what happened last week so the situation is quite agitated.

Cette année, je n'achèterai pas de muguet. Si je trouve un stand qui vend des églantines rouges, j'en ferai tout un stock pour mettre à ma boutonnière et offrir aux amis que je croiserais cet après-midi.

Car c'est le maréchal #Petain qui, en 1941, a décidé de substituer le muguet à l'églantine rouge pour symboliser ce jour de la Fête des Travailleurs (et non pas du travail)
La fleur des communards lui rappelait trop le "soulèvement" à Fourmies, le 1er mai 1891.
De cet épisode sanglant (9 morts et 35 blessés quand la troupe tire sur une foule pacifique), wiki dit que :
"La fusillade du 1er mai à Fourmies provoque une vive émotion dans la France entière. Elle est considérée aujourd'hui comme l'un des événements fondateurs du mouvement ouvrier."

Après Fourmies, la tradition fut de porter une églantine rouge aux manifestations du 1er mai.

Pas étonnant que 50 ans apres cette tragédie, symbole de la lutte ouvriere, Philippe "capitulard" Pétain ait choisi en 1941 de cacher l'églantine rouge, honnie des patrons et des bourgeois, pour la remplacer par le muguet, symbole de...pureté des jeunes marié.e.s.

La pureté, encore et toujours une obsession de l'extrême droite et de ses affidés.

Pas une image repride ⁴des scènes de violence inouïe de fdp US chargeant, tirant des balles de caoutchouc et des LBD sur des manifestants pacifiques.
Pas un mot sur cet activiste sioniste pris en flagrant délit hurlant sur son mégaphone "KILL ALL THE JEWS" pour simuler un acte antisémite.
Pas un mot de la bronca pro-palestinienne qui a accueilli aux cris de "Shame on you" la centaine de correspondants de presse accrédités à la Maison-Blanche.
Pas un mot sur la flottille de 5.000 tonnes de nourriture empêchée de rejoindre Gaza car la Guinée-Bissau lui a retiré son pavillon.

En revanche un long sujet sur les soldats français qui se préparent à une guerre d'intensité élevée pour le cas où ils devraient se battre sur le territoire ukrainien.
Mais le speakerine nous rassure "Le président Macron n'envisage pas de présence française en Ukraine."
Ouf, les Russes peuvent respirer et Putin changer de slip.

Ça faisait bien 2 ans que je n'avais pas regardé un 20h de #France2...je me souviens pourquoi maintenant.
