I’ve listened in on a few talking-head AI panels now, and it seems the universal advice to the problems AI raises is to be responsible about auditing its outputs and correcting for bias, inaccuracy, etc.
Oh good. As we have seen time and time again, there’s no solution for large-scale structural problems like expecting people to collectively exhibit extraordinary personal responsibility.
@monkeyborg oddly enough that's almost the argument that the aristocracy made about the "commoners" learning how to read.
They believed the commoners wouldn't be able to interpret the written word "correctly" and that their varied opinions would cause chaos.
I trust in the adaptability of humans. So far we've been able to adapt to most technologies. Current tech has widened that gap between adoptability and adaptation, but I think we'll get there eventually. It's what we've done so far.
I just saw "Matrix 5" is in the works. When will Hollywood start producing new content instead of rebooting, remaking, or putting out the 5-10th installment of existing movies over and over again. Same goes for TV IMO.
I'm reminded of a bit from "The Simpsons" about Charles Bronson in "Death Wish 9."
@That_One_Guy I get that. What I'm saying is that the reason it feels like it's getting old is because YOU have gotten older and have lived long enough to see more remakes.
Look at the movie "A star is born.". You're probably familiar with the Barbra Streisand version, and recently the Lady Gaga version. What you may not be aware of is that the Streisand version was the THIRD retelling.
"The Matrix" has had 4 movies in 25 years. Is a 5th a good idea? Probably not. But it's not unusual.

Heck yes... My bike parts are shipped and on the way. I was also able to change the delivery from Wal Mart to a pickup location that I will actually be able to get the parts and not have them sent back because they are not in wal marts system.
