Keeping my fingers crossed for ya on the U.S west coast.
It's only 9:30 pm pt there.

Will check back in another hour to see if anyone posts anything more than purple sky glow.

BTW: for anyone not familiar with it's aurora related but it's caused by the gas, not directly by the charged particles.
Still pretty enchanting
to watch though!

Heads Up!

Extremely Rare opportunity for enthusiasts!

This year, there will be a nova, before or by September, as bright as the North Star.
After peak brightness it will remain bright enough, for several days, to observe with binoculars.

You can help research scientists with observational details.

Interesting weekend read
and today's
lifelong learning for all.

How fish communicate.

Did you know? Some fish make a sound so loud it rivals a pneumatic drill.
And some use a series of hums and farts to communicate.

Fancy a holiday near the 5th dot from the sun?

As it turns out, Jupiters moon has substantially less oxygen than previously thought. Albeit, it still produces enough oxygen
in a 24 hour period
to keep approximately
one million humans breathing.

50 Year old Mystery Finally Solved.

Ever wonder how Baleen whales (Blues, Greys, Humpbacks), the largest
and some of the most magnificent animals to ever roam the earth,
produce their highly complex communication sounds and whale songs?

For half a century no one knew - until now.
