@purplepadma@Jaden3 I'm just curious to know. When did you realize it's the jews causing all the mess and has it been normal knowledge in your social circles for a perioid already or are you more on the lone side?
Last friday, I have received a takedown request from a company representing Apple, requesting I remove a parody account that is Apple on my instance.
They are claiming that it attempts to "mislead users into believing that the account is sponsored by or affiliated with Apple when that is not the case".
I am convinced that the account was legally in the right as it was very obvious that it is a parody account, but unfortunately I am powerless against a gigacorporation in court as they could just financially ruin me if they feel like it.
Therefore, I would like to warn everyone NOT to create Apple parody accounts using Apple's logo and word mark on your instances, as this would be violating Apple's intellectual property and would waste the time and money of the law firm that actively scours the internet for these types of accounts! :neocat_o_o:
@lea You can be world-widely known comedian who mocks any big corporation throughout your whole career, but you can't be an average joe with very tiny audience without getting sued.
I'll be live in ~6 hours to talk about the GNOME financial situation. Is there anyone from @gnome (ideally, from the Foundation) who would like to join live?
It looks like Framework is going to expand their product line beyond laptops. With a new $18M investment, my hunch is a phone (that number sounds about right for a solid attempt), but my hope (for their sake) is a tablet.
While it would be nice for Fairphone to see some competition, phones are such a complex product that you can easily go down an expensive rabbit hole that's hard to emerge from.
I gave KDE Plasma Mobile another go. It improved a LOT over the past few months. No crashes yet! It's a lot more stable now. Although not as stable as Phosh.
I like their whole "just copy Android" philosophy. Everything feels familiar and intuitive. I might keep it like this.

So my wife and I have been using Signal for a few months now and... Damnit I wish I could get everyone to use it. It's such a nice, no-nonsense application.
Just wish their desktop applications weren't shit.
@thomholwerda@aral@romu700@h3artbl33d@signalapp simpleX is actually great. It doesn't compress sent pictures, it is faster than Signal and you can have endless amount of channels with the same person because the app doesn't know your recipient is.
@system76 The most biggest talents and enthuasists talks openly about their faschnitating work. It helps other devs and us always thirsty geeks to learn new things.
Dear @mozilla
Please, please, please put the RSS indicator back in Firefox.
People need to know about this technology which empowers users over greedy, controlling corporations.
Update: As many have pointed out, you can use @thunderbird as an RSS feed reader, and there are many #firefox add-ons to restore the RSS indicator (one of which I'm already using). But my point is that Firefox needs to lean into RSS as an answer to all the crap that is the modern web, and help educate users about it
I've adjusted the COSMIC editor and terminal to take custom window background colors from the COSMIC theme, when they are using the COSMIC syntax theme. Here's my DOOM theme 🤘.
Keep in mind all software shown is a work in progress
Every time I review any #Linux hardware on the channel, I always get asked « where the affordable options are », so here are 2 #laptops from @slimbook, the « Elemental » line.
They start under 550€, or under 500€ if you don’t have to pay VAT, and they actually give you a really solid device for the cost:
@Natanox@tarneo@thelinuxEXP@slimbook Tuxedo and System76 both has a customer service in multiple ways. I don't know any other Linux laptop brands so I don't speak about them.
Quality? The Primeagen uses System76 Lemur Pro and is currently buying the new model because he liked it so much.
Also, you can't expect Linux to be Windows so RTFM but if you can't search guide for making a bootable usb stick then don't leave the Apple products.
If someone has one of the newer Itanium workstations for me, I solemnly promise to use it as my main machine for a month and write about it on @osnews.
Falling down a rabbit hole configuring Newsboat and writing scripts to subscribe to YouTube channels via RSS, download the videos locally, then open them in VLC.
I get to stay "subscribed" to my favorite content creators on YouTube, and never have to touch the site, or use janky alternative front-ends.
