🚷My passion is exploration of abandoned places, through photography. Answering the question "What lies beyond that "No Entry" sign?". This is where you will find me, camera in hand.

🤫I choose not to share location names with my photographs, I feel this is a step to prevent theft and damage. Please respect this when you interact in comments 🙏 https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/why-no-addresses/

A little I took inside and spa in France 🇫🇷

I am far more comfortable behind the lens, but occasionally I take a photo as a memento of a nice day. And this was indeed a very lovely day 💙

Visiting the south of France during an August heatwave, to visit some hot locations? Count me in! I explored chateaux, houses & thermal spas.

I used to visit this theme park when it was open! When I used to visit in the late 90s and earliest 2000s there were different rides. The big rollercoaster was totally different when I was a kid, I never got to ride this newer one!

It closed down in 2012, and I visited in 2015 to take these photos. these are my first photos as well 🖤

Aye this was a flat rollercoaster for kids, with a diesel powered coaster shaped like a dragon. It was really cute back in the day!

I think it is the most beautiful I have seen, and I have seen inside quite a few (all abandoned, of course 😆)

ObsidianUrbex, to story

Exploring is a chance to take a brief step into the past, to glimpse scenes that are frozen in time.

This is a relic of a bygone era, untouched and forgotten. It had been abandoned for years, and is filled with mementos of a life once lived.

Inside are many personal belongings, set against 1970s wallpaper and décor.

This kind of thing is quite common in Belgium, something to do with how house inheritance works. Or perhaps there were no heirs. I have visited many such houses, it is so sad to see what once cherished things are left forgotten

This seemingly abandoned Roadside Amusement Park in Jordan is small but colourful! It appears to have been abandoned for only a few years.

During a trip to Latvia and Lithuania, I captured photos of abandoned Soviet relics on an old 70s/80s subminiature film camera (a Kiev 30).

✍️ I wrote an article about this quirky camera, and share a gallery of 21 photos from my road trip around the Baltics - https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/blog/kiev-30-soviet-relics-on-a-16mm-subminature-spy-camera/

Happy print day! A new batch of mini prints just arrived, these are ones I give away with my photobooks 📘

I was sorting them, and thought it might be fun to share a quick photo. All these are in , my home country 🇬🇧. They represent some of my favourite adventures over the last 8 years.

Which one catches your eye? If you want to know more about any of them, ask and I can share some info!

ObsidianUrbex,

@becha Hi Vesna, just sending you a private message and a little update! I am about to fly to France, yay! I don’t think I can fit your parcel in my bag, well it might fit but it might be crushed against my tripod D:. So if it is ok I will post from home today. It won’t take long, usually a week or so :)
