๐ŸšทMy passion is exploration of abandoned places, through photography. Answering the question "What lies beyond that "No Entry" sign?". This is where you will find me, camera in hand.

๐ŸคซI choose not to share location names with my photographs, I feel this is a step to prevent theft and damage. Please respect this when you interact in comments ๐Ÿ™ https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/why-no-addresses/

The French Fortress is a mysterious castle-like structure in the Wadi Rum desert of Jordan. It is the abandoned set of a late 90s gameshow.

This was once a very picturesque house, backing onto a small stream and surrounded by woodlands.

As the soft afternoon light shines through the cobweb-covered and vegetation-encroached windows, it is not hard to imagine the inhabitants sitting here. Perhaps on a summers afternoon not too dissimilar to this one. Maybe one is reading a book, while the other gazes out of the window while sipping a a glass of wine.

ObsidianUrbex,

@NatureMC
Definitely, the perfect place to curl up with a nice book

Chรขteau Miranda was located in the province of Namur, . Building work started in 1866 and culminated with the clock tower construction in 1907. It was home to the wealthy Liedekerke-De Beaufort family until World War II. It was used as an orphanage and childrenโ€™s holiday camp from between the 1950s and 1970s.

It was demolished in 2016, shortly after I visited and captured these photos https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/residential/chateau-miranda-belgium/

Shelling of the city of Odessa left one dead and 22 wounded. The Transfiguration cathedral was severely damaged. Archdeacon Andrii Palchuk said โ€œThe destruction is enormous, half of the cathedral is now rooflessโ€.
The rocket attack has also caused serious damage to other historic buildings and cultural sites.

Beautiful abandoned palace in ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น

This palace was built in the late 19th Century. It was once home of a professor of medicine and was then acquired by the state in the 1920s. After some minor modifications in the 1930s, the building was and into disrepair. Fortunes changed in 2021; renovations began and it is now back in use as a hotel/apartments.

This abandoned factory produced hand-blown hollowed glass, initially producing glass used to make petroleum lanterns. The huge contraption that dominates these photos is a ring furnace.

This location has the โ€œLord Of The Ringsโ€, and you can see more photos and read more about the here - https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/industrial/lord-of-the-rings-germany/

conservatory/greenhouse in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

This indoor features the remains of a rockery, a spiral-armed water feature. Wicker lanterns are suspended from the ceiling on beams supported by sturdy chains. At one end, a large fan-shaped window leads into a smaller room. Vines reach into the through smashed windows, and creep across the floor in an attempt to reclaim this magical place.

Reaching out to all people in the ๐Ÿ“ท๐Ÿ’™

My Olympus Chrome Six bellows camera (circa 1950) has a few pinholes (no rips, just holes at the corner). How do you all repair yours?

Or just bit the bullet and replace them? If this is your suggestion, any recommendations for 6x6 bellows? It is the same body as the Mamiya Six, I believe.

A beautiful mansion in Belgium. I explored this location many years ago, and it was a memorable one. As I prepared to take this photo a huge storm kicked off outside. Sometimes I like to create pieces. I use one of my own photographs, and use them to create scenes inspired by some of my favourite movies/series.

My most recent piece takes an abandoned train found in Hungary, and re-imagines it as the eternal engine from

Inside an abandoned gasometer in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

An impressive 50m tall dodecahedral tower built in the 1930s. The gasworks nearby converted coal into fuel gas for use in gas-fuelled lighting systems. The tower acted as short-term storage between production and consumption.
