Good morning. I paid for yesterday afternoonโ€™s delicious nap with nighttime insomnia. I had to put a sleep story on to drown out the anxieties in my head. Got my first uni counselling session this afternoon, so obviously Iโ€™m now anxious about that ๐Ÿ™„ How are you today?

@purplepadma Woke up very early, also full of anxiety because of the engineer coming this morning, and also the bigger news that's going to keep me very anxious for the next six weeks.

I'll have my fingers crossed that your session goes well. That's rather more important and stressful than an internet engineer coming round!

Guess what, the visit from the social worker was FINE ๐Ÿ™„ We agreed she doesnโ€™t need to see me again, the issue is not depression anymore but anxiety, confidence, feeling differently about myself and what I want to do with my life. Seeing a uni counsellor tomorrow for that stuff

So anxious about the social worker coming, WHY? She is a very nice woman. She has been twice before. Sheโ€™s not going to say or do anything distressing (as far as I am aware!). Sheโ€™s coming at my request. But the brain weasels are churning

I'm feeling stupidly anxious (currently on hold whilst they run some tests). Don't know why I'm so anxious. They're trying to help. But I feel terrified.

Got into a terrible mess, because the tech support person asked me when was a suitable time for them to send an engineer around, and I said I can be home any time, which apparently is not an acceptable answer. So I had to go through a list of times when I might be available, which is all the times, so I began at tomorrow morning and went on until they had enough.

But I think they said I'll have a call from a fault manager soon and then unless the fault manager has identified something that can be addressed without an engineer visiting me, I'll get an engineer in the next few days? I think? I may have got that wrong.

Also I was struggling a bit because the call wasn't exceptionally clear and she talked fast and had a thick accent from Essex or somewhere round there and I find it difficult to take stuff in.

The most ridiculous thing about cop procedural shows is when they ask where a person was, and what they were doing at a specific time the person always has perfect and immediate recall. I'd be desperately trying to remember what day of the week that was, and trying to open my phone calendar. If I was the cop, I'd immediately be suspicious of the person who remembered exactly where they were and what they were doing.

@RickiTarr You know what bothers me? Phones are always unlocked. Unless them being locked is a major plot point - the owner is a devious criminal who has a lock on their phone! - cops can always pick up a phone and look at everything on it.

Good morning! Even though Iโ€™m feeling a lot better, a big source of anxiety for me is the thought of travelling anywhere by myself. So I am bravely going to Swansea on the train this morning to meet my friend. Telling myself I can absolutely do this, itโ€™s just the journey I used to take to work, but Iโ€™m weirdly nervous. Itโ€™ll be fine, right?

I've mentioned that I'm getting a new boss, and new boss is not going to be replacing old boss directly - they'll be going into a newly created role (because of an organisational restructure).

The proposed job description has been sent around our team for feedback before the vacancy is published. Would it be wrong for me to suggest that a key responsibility for this new role is:

"Let the quality improvement person get on with their job, leave them alone, and stop inviting them to fucking meetings all the time"

@RickiTarr I'd love to go north-south (or south-north) through the middle of Europe. Sweden, across the ร˜resund bridge, down through Denmark, Germany, Austria through the Tirol and all the way down to Sicily.

And the vehicle I'd take would be a lot longer than a car, and its road would be two metal tracks.

Anyone want some flowers from out of my garden?

Columbines in a pale pink and purple. Their slim petals hang downwards as a bell. They are purple closer to the stem and pale pink further along. One of in focus close up - and it has a tiny bug climbing on a petal - with many others behind. We can also see some orange poppies, out of focus, and a wooden fence at the back.
A verbena with small flowers standing upright atop a stem with jagged dark green leaves. The flowers are pale purple and white, with some bold magenta at the centre of the cluster. The bright pink bucket that they're growing in is just visible in the background, and it's all in front of a brown brick wall. There's an old terracotta ventilation brick as well, the bucket is hanging from it, but don't worry, it's long since been blocked off (there's more modern ventilation just out of shot).
A soft pink rose in full bloom, with a second just behind it. They are lit well by low evening sun. In the background, we see the wooden fence they're growing beside, as well as many green leaves, plus some other flowers in yellow orange and purple, all out of focus.
