I was just listening to a podcast that reported that Tesla has cancelled job offers to interns at the last minute. One student had already spent thousands on housing arrangements, etc and was making airline arrangements when Tesla rescinded their offer.
@SteveInVentura They just had layoffs, legally I don't think they're allowed to take on interns right after that. Shitty sitch for the interns for sure!
@mjausson@SteveInVentura I've heard a bunch of thirdhand nightmare stories about being interns at companies run by you-know-who. (ie, hours, and if you are female, etc) But most of them also attached with "doing it for the resume even though..."

Not to mention that the systemic violence perpetrated by a second Trump administration would be far above and beyond what we see today. I can't think of a single group that is being hurt today that wouldn't be hurt as bad or worse under Trump.

@SteveInVentura not sure what you mean… it entirely depends on the client application. I think the web version of Mastodon now supports trying to get text from images, but you would lose the rest of the context.
As a sighted person, I still enjoy alt-text because it makes me realize parts of the image that I might have overlooked, or interpreted differently.
I usually just use the EVgo app, but if I can also search for Electrify America chargers and pay for using either with the BMW app it might be worth switching.
@ai6yr People probably haven’t heard about the newer ones yet. Even us EV drivers get stuck in our ruts. I also suspect EV owners might be more likely to hang out at the mall instead of dollar tree and Taco Bell. Surprised you even have a dollar tree out there.
@SteveInVentura LOL not a lot of Teslas through Taco Bell and the Dollar Tree, for sure, ha ha. Starbucks and Trader Joe's would be a better draw, but it is adjacent to the 101 freeway.
