@ValueSubtracted Not my favourite of the franchise, but it definitely has some peak moments for me. Christopher Lloyd's performance was inspired & the ending had me in tears, as did many of the TOS era films. <3

@ValueSubtracted When I first saw her as Tilly, it made me feel less alone as an neurodiverse oddball in this world. After that, I worked more of who I was into my own fictional world of characters. Plus, her as Captain Killy in Disco & STO gave me chills. It was really well done. :3

Judge Tanya Chutkan, who had stayed her gag order pending appeal, reinstated it after Trump came after Mark Meadows. She ruled that this β€œalmost certainly” would have been a violation had it been in effect. Now, we know that Donald Trump can’t help himself. He’s sure to violate it again. So the parties will be back before the judge not long from now arguing what the appropriate sanction should be. A big fine? He won’t care. Send him to jail? That will make him a martyr and turn the trial into a circus. It will certainly be interesting to see what she does next time he crosses her.

@georgetakei At least if he goes to prison, he'll be out of our lives for a while. It might make him a martyr to some, but others will have a hard time believing in a prison convict, I bet. He wants to have the attention of everyone; prison won't allow that attention to reach him. πŸ™‚

@georgetakei One thing I know in this world is that a dishonest man is an incredibly weak one. It takes the barest hint of courage to be honest. It shows how weak trump is, that he can't embrace facts about how much he really is worth. He is also a rabidly jealous person, to boot. :3

Donald Trump has dropped out of the Forbes 400 richest people list. I don’t know if it’s because they realized all his property valuations were inflated and thus unreliable, or because he’s simply lost a lot of his fortune lately, but either way, it’s sure to rankle him even more than his criminal indictments. Trump’s lawyers failed in their attempts to force Judge Chutkan to recuse herself from the case. Trump likely assumes any judge who is black and female won’t look too kindly upon his behavior. But in this, he is mistaken: No one in their right mind, whatever their gender or race, ought to countenance what he has done. What Trump hates is that she represents the fair administration of justice. Against that, he stands little chance of skirting accountability.

@georgetakei I think it's possible he could. When he started the Dark Brandon merch campaign, it reassured a lot of us that he is bold, has a sense of humour & rightly so. Joining the picket lines is a wonderful gesture. Both these things make him more human, which is a big point with democrat voters & those of us around the world who are interested. ^_^

Biden's re-election campaign is sending my Governor, Gavin Newsom, to the second Republican presidential debate this week. He’s there to respond in real time with Democratic points. He’s honestly the only reason to watch the debate. But I’ll probably wait till afterwards. Can’t stand the nastiness of the GOP.

The special election in NH proved once again that Democrats have the momentum. This was a district that Trump won in 2020. It just went to the Democrat by 12 points, and with one more special election to go in a blue-leaning district, Democrats there could soon bring the state house to parity, putting the long GOP NH house majority to an end!
