It's almost as if one has to suffer from cognitive impairment to make it to the high echelon of Right Wing political theater. Practically all the Red state governors are psychopaths and semi-literate morons, and the criminal Defendant candidate for POTUS is literally a demented and deranged sociopath. The crazier you are, the higher you go in the GOP.

Yes. I've said for years that the GOP began selecting for psychopaths during the 1990s. If you're not a Xian con artist, a grifter, or criminally insane you can't even get on the GOP ballot anymore. Domestic abuse and sexual assault are a bonus. Since the 1990s, any Republican member of Congress who shows the slightest trace of scientific literacy, awareness of history, respect for Constitution principles or social conscience is primaried out by people like Paul Gosar and Gym Jordan.

That might be better phrased as "maintain control of #Texas school boards". TX has the most horrific school system in the nation with the possible exception of Kentucky, and Xian nationalists have been in charge for thirty years or more. All that matter in TX schools are Jesus and football.

I apologize for my cynical grousing today. My entire family going back to the early 1900s was from Texas, and I'm the only one not born there, so when I see more mention of the Republican/Xian takeover it just bums me out.

Justice Merchan starts off will the prosecution motion for contempt.
He tells Trump he's about to issue his ruling, in which he will again find Trump in contempt of court.
The last thing I want to do is put you in jail, Justice Merchan says to Trump. You are the former President of the United States and possibly the next President as well.
But "going forward," he continues, "this court will have to consider jail sanctions" if necessary.

Why can't he be put up overnight in a hotel, so that his SS detail won't have to go into a jail to protect him? No worse than sequestering a jury is it? The OJ Simpson jury spent weeks in a motel/hotel. No smartphone, no posting.

We often hear the complaint that there's no way to lock the Defendant up were he found guilty, pointing to problems about security and his SS detail. I've been saying for years now that the solution is Gitmo. Of course! It's where we've locked up terrorists since 2003. Donald should be perfectly safe there.

Why not vote it down? If it passes, we know who the enemies of free speech are on the Democratic side and take our chances on Biden showing some common sense for a change and vetoing it.

Voting for anybody but Biden will accomplish the long-sought goal of the GOP to install a king, but schools stopped teaching young people history and civics 50 years ago. The old are trapped in some Republican yesteryear, when Republicans weren't quite as horrid as they are now, and have been subjected to 40 years of ever-more-intense anti-Democrat propaganda. The young only see Biden's pigheaded, sadistic support of Israel, not realizing that the Defendant would be even worse.
