Every so often I remember that I haven't listened to this song in a while. And then I so. And it blows me away, every single time. And then I listen to it three times in a row because I just have to. The story it tells, the melody, the intensity of the singing, the drums, the way the music drives home what's happening in the lyrics. Driving the Last Spike is always an experience. Love it.

Hey @Vivaldi, what's the chances I could get a "Watch Tab" feature added? Have a configurable periodic reload (already a feature obviously) in the background and just notify either through a simple dot on the tab or a popup (having that a configurable option would be nice) when the page changes?

WildEnte,
@WildEnte@vivaldi.net avatar

@mike @Vivaldi I think that's a valuable request, I took the liberty to post it in the feature request category of the forum

WildEnte,
@WildEnte@vivaldi.net avatar

@pallenberg @Casi hm sieht schon nett aus. Aber der Stromverbrauch ist nicht unerheblich: "Considering the Frame is technically always-on, you may have reservations about the TV’s energy usage. In art mode, Samsung says a 65-inch Frame consumes about 50 watts of power." (Link unten)

May the Fourth be with you (I bet I'm the first one in your timeline saying this!). As a @Vivaldi afficionado, I obviously need to play around with a theme today.

The video shows a browser with the user interface themed to dark colors. The background image is slightly animated Jedi version of the Vivaldi browser's mascot Tony.

Yey YouTube ads!

What @Vivaldi don't say in their release blog post of version 6.7 today: if you use the updated Vivaldi Feed Reader to watch subscribed youtube channel videos, you don't get to see any ads. Not sure how long this will work until Google shuts shuts this circumvention down, but right now if you're sick and tired of youtube ads, just use Vivaldi's feed reader (it's a great browser/mail program for everything else anyway)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E00sqFtAirI

Note that if you do that, you may want to consider other ways to support the folks who produce the videos, (which is generally the case with adblocking. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Make sure that people who create things you enjoy get something in return).

WildEnte,
@WildEnte@vivaldi.net avatar

WildEnte,
@WildEnte@vivaldi.net avatar

@benni sollte irgendwann mal wer irgendwas in Deutschland investieren wollen, braucht es rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen. Über den Zeitpunkt darf man streiten

WildEnte,
@WildEnte@vivaldi.net avatar

Made a small update to my @Vivaldi mod. It adds some drop-shadow to active tabs (including tabs with background audio) making them even more visible and it adds a nice little transition.

You can still get it here:

A small transition when tabs are changing states of being active or not.

What email client are people using on desktop these days? Is still the go? My MS Office subscription gives me access to Outlook but it's terrible for personal use (arguably it's terrible for any use, but it's annoying enough that I don't want to use it even though I'm already paying for it).

I was going to make a joke here about going back to Lotus Notes, but it looks like IBM sold it back in 2019, so it wouldn't even feel nostalgic.

Boosts welcome.

I installed newest Vivaldi Browser 6.6 in my laptop and phone yesterday. I used Vivaldi's first versions few years ago. In that time I had some compatiblity issues and "missing functions" issues with it.
For a while I have not used it, but yesterday I decided to test it again after reading some news about Vivaldi development and new functions.
Now I have to say that Vivaldi might be my new favorite browser.

I propose these levels of comprehension for (California) vanity license plates, from most inscrutable to most understandable:

(Most inscrutable)

  1. Physical comedy, where you have to manipulate the plate to get it: X32TTU8 (read it in a mirror), 3SI73 (flip over to read ELISE).
  2. Inside jokes. Only 4 people will get it: N4BLOOP. What the hell does that even mean?
    2a. Uncommon language plates. I think this one is a subcategory of Inside Jokes because most people have no idea what they mean.
  3. Topical memes for the Chronically Online: COVFEFE, SKIBIDI.
  4. Nerd references: NCC1701, GANDALF, FFFF00
  5. Car People Things That Only Car People Get: 997C2S, RMR6MT.
  6. Car People Things That Non Car People Get: GO2FAST or REVVIT.
  7. Major sports teams: 40NINRS or KCHIEFS.
  8. Description of car ownership: WIFEYV8 or BOBSLEX.
  9. Names and nicknames: SLAPPY or JIMBOB.
  10. Nouns: 3LATTES or SHIHTZU.
  11. Phrases: BRUHH or OHWOW.

(Most understandable)

Did I miss anything?
