@lisamelton You're a fan of underground comix? I have some doodle drawings given to me by Howard Cruse I could post. I took a cartooning class with him in college. Hands down one of the best classes I've ever had.

I really admire @lisamelton in more ways than one.

But her curated boosts are simply wonderful! I really appreciate her taste, diversity, and commitment.

These super strong hot flashes have been kicking my ass today. Not just with extreme heat (which never reaches to my freezing finger tips or toes), but with the dizziness and nausea as well.

Some are curious about my age because of my recent birthday. As an older woman you must understand I'm a bit reticent to share that information. But, what the Hell, I trust you all. 😊

I'm officially I-threw-my-back-out-in-a-goddamn-coughing-fit years old. 😒

I think there's actually a middle ground between Big Fedi and Small Fedi, as mentioned by @evan — perhaps we call it "medium fedi" or "just right fedi"

@thisismissem I like the idea of the Internet and federated social media being classified as a public utility, funded by taxes and regulated by a publicly accountable body.

@thisismissem it would certainly need to be defended from bad actors, but shifting the mindset from "private product" to "public utility" would frame the struggle better, I think, and help remove the profit motive.
