Andrew Neil quietly deleted this misinformation but not before it garnered over 150K views. In reality, the FM's pension is about £2K/annum. Has Neil issued a correction or an apology? No. Has he ever called out Truss or Johnson who each receive a pension of £115K for life? No.

Bitter, deeply unpleasant media shitlord thinks he's being acerbic and funny but actually comes across as just cringeworthy.

In a statement today, the Scottish Parliament said: “Humza Yousaf’s First Minister pension will be either 1/40 or 1/50 of his final salary of £104,584 (depending on which funding option he chose) for each year in office (ie one year in office) - his First Minister pension will therefore be in the order of £2k per annum, payable from age 65."

Mr. Neil has subsequently deleted his tweet but if he had any decency he'd issue a retraction and an apology.

He doesn't so he won't.

Green Party representation in Holyrood relies heavily on list votes from, predominantly, SNP supporters who won't look kindly on them for, as they see it, sabotaging the BHA. This means there's little likelihood of a pro-independence majority at the next election.

As the UK Home Office prepares to set the police on scared, vulnerable people in a desperate attempt to solicit votes from its racist base, we should all remember the words of historian and journalist Neal Ascherson, from 2017:

The UK Home Office will reportedly launch a surprise operation to detain asylum seekers across the UK tomorrow in preparation for their deportation to Rwanda, weeks earlier than expected and timed to coincide with council elections in England.

Setting the police on scared, vulnerable people in a pathetic, desperate attempt to solicit votes from their racist base. Utterly detestable.

Daniel Poulter, who's just defected from the Conservative Party to Labour, was Health minister when the state-owned NHS blood plasma supplier - Plasma Resources UK - was sold to Bain Capital, a US company co-founded by Mitt Romney, in a £230m deal.

Bain Capital then sold it on to the Chinese Creat Group. For £820m.

Do you remember, back in 2014, when our unionist chums persuaded a majority of Scots that the UK was a stable country where decency, human rights, respect for the rule of law, internationalism and standards in public life were cherished?

Seems a long time ago. A generation, even.

Truly remarkable, and a huge credit to both the engineers who built this thing 50 years ago and those today who were able to resurrect its comms. This actually is rocket science.

Documents relating to the Royal household are exempt from the Freedom of Information Act.

The UK Foreign Office said an exemption relating to communications with, or on the behalf of, the late Queen, was “absolute”.

One simple question: why?

The “Billy Boys” song originates with Billy Fullerton, leader of the Billy Boys of Brigton Cross, a Protestant street gang in the 1920s. Fullerton was awarded a medal for strike-breaking during the 1926 General Strike and formed a Glasgow branch of the British Union of Fascists.
