you watch all these movies, read all these stories

it’s always an accident that the computer fucks us

it’s always “SHIT, despite the best of my intentions, there was an angle of this I did not consider, and it was from there that humanity was destroyed”

but the Silicon Valley guys are like “let’s make that one dystopia we saw, I call being the rich guy”

just a deep lack of imagination

@danilo yeah that’s what constantly eats away at me. The pure lack of originality makes it even more dubious as to why they supposedly have such passion but apparently lack any novel thought

@Sevoris @danilo that speaks even more to the lack of imagination. Phillip K. Dick didn’t feel the need to show why maybe manipulating a consciousness into being and dooming them to paranoid and violence might be a bad thing especially because of the dystopian backdrop.

There are more and more stories that ARE far more on the nose, like Ex Machina, where the billionaire weirdo is literally murdered and guys still stand up like “we have our own Eva!”

The problem with the iPad lineup:

iPad Mini:
Only good for content consumption and a Kindle is a better, cheaper e-reader

iPad:
awkward middle child, uses the Bad Apple Pencil

iPad Air:
a solid all rounder, but if you’re going to spend that much money, don't you want the nice display?

iPad Pro 11”:
a great device, but a little on the small side for drawing or using multiple windows

iPad Pro 13”:
if I’m going to spend €2000 to get a computer with a keyboard, why not just buy a MacBook

At this point LLMs are like sex. Seeing it everywhere without explicit consent of users makes me feel super gross like I'm supposed to be into something I don't want or need because it makes people feel special without thinking they need to earn any trust.

But then in extremely specific contexts, I'm like well this is just the bees knees. 🐝🦿

Apple Journal has been available for six months. Still using it?

I use it as my daily Journal and write an entry every day. I know I've journaled every day for 187 days with Apple Journal thanks to a Streaks automation.

Wild that Apple has added almost nothing since its initial release. It's obvious this will be one of those features that get one big update per year.
