Alles derbe Schimpfen muss man sich bei mir immer dazudenken, etwas Schlimmeres als "treuloser Dreckskerl" oder "Krüppel und Verbrecher" ist im #Torfschuppenmord nicht ausgeschrieben. Aber das beste Schimpfwort verbirgt sich garantiert hinter diesem Satz, wir werden es nur nie erfahren: "[W]as Asri dazu murmelte, waren wohl barsakhanische Flüche der ausdrucksvolleren Art."

In meinem aktuellen Projekt schimpft die Regentrude mit dem Windgeist Ariel: "Du oller Elwetritsch!", weil er immer nur Unsinn macht und weil das Ganze im Ländle spielt 🥰

"Bei den Vielen" ist ein ziemlich stanischer Fluch, denn dort wird "der Eine" verehrt. Dessen Widersacher werden gern als fahrende Redenton-Truppe dargestellt, deshalb wundert es mich, wie mein redentischer Ermittler auf "Bei allen abgenutzten Vielen" kommt.
Von seinen Landsleuten habe ich auch schon "Beim Stallbesen" gehört.

I can almost give you an exact date: Jan 30th, 2000.

That's when I started writing down the first intense scene of a story that wasn't fan fiction. It grew and grew in my mind, into three years of hyperfocus and three completed novels with four more started.

Those prompted me to sign up with an agent. (Contract long dissolved.) I've been self-publishing since 2013.

No. I get the impression from traditional publishers that the best qualities for writing are:

• already be extremely famous
• find a good ghost writer.

Mantell’s words fit any profession. You need a thick skin and self belief in order to keep putting yourself out there until you make it.

Personally, I’d say the best qualities for writing are dedication and practice.

Sometimes as Inspiration and aspiration. Other times they offer encouragement and emotional support. Occasionally, there's a mutual interest in offering advice on technical aspects of the craft.

Those things aside, I admire every single writer. Writing is quite personal, and sharing it with the world takes a ridiculous amount of courage. You're all amazing. 💚

Ein Logikloch ist für mich etwas anderes, als eine fehlende Erklärung. Letzteres ist ok, da kann ich mir als Leser auch mal eigene Gedanken zu machen.

Ein Logikloch wäre z.B., wenn ein Charakter einen Gegenstand oder eine Info bekommt, diese im nächsten Kapitel aber nicht mehr hat.
So etwas würde mich als Leser wahnsinnig machen. 😆

Woher wollte mein Dt.-Lehrer das wissen?!?
Meine Meinung: Wenn ein Text mal veröffentlicht ist, gehört die Interpretation denen, die ihn lesen.

Ich denke, dass jede Person die Erfahrung gemacht hat, dass etwas nicht so aufgenommen wurde, wie es gemeint war. Gefühlt öfter als gewollt. ;)

Romane zu schreiben bedeutet für mich, der Leserschaft ihr persönliches Kopfkino zu ermöglichen. Von daher liegt alles, was nicht explizit beschrieben wurde, in der Fantasie des Lesenden.

Ich schreibe in dem Bewusstsein, dass die letztendliche Geschichte erst im Kopf der Leserschaft entsteht. Nichts, was ich mir an Details ausdenken kann, könnte einer Leser:in besser gefallen als das, was sie an eigenen Assoziationen mitbringt. Ich lasse Raum dafür.
Außerdem will ich, dass meine Texte was geben. Und das geht nur, wenn die Leserschaft sich selbst darin finden darf.

Im Schaufenster einer Buchhandlung: Die Werke welcher zweier anderen Autor*innen hättest du gern neben deinem Werk? Warum?

Der erste Gedanke ist wahrscheinlich nicht nur bei mir: Große Namen, die ich als Inspiration oder Vorbild habe.

Der zweite Gedanke gefällt mir besser: Zwei mir persönlich bekannte Schreib-Kolleginnen, die es ebenfalls bis in die Auslage von Buchhandlungen geschafft haben. Bundesweit. Und zwar explizit und vorgestellt als Self-Publisherinnen.
