How do I install inkstitch extension in inkscape-flatpak?

I’m running Inkscape as flatpak on Kubuntu 24.04 and I wanted to install.the Ink/Stitch extension, but somehow this doesn’t seem to work like it did on the apt/ppa version. I’ve tried the script install from inkstitch, and I’ve tried to manually copy the contents of the tar.xz to the extensions subfolder in home/.var/...

Completely different extension but this one has installation instructions that have different paths for installation depending on if its flatpak

If Inkscape was installed on Linux from Flatpakthe path is more likely ~/.var/app/org.inkscape.Inkscape/config/inkscape/extensions/.

edit - theres an open issue talking about this, too

Python is great, but stuff like this just drives me up the wall (lemmy.world)

Explanation: Python is a programming language. Numpy is a library for python that makes it possible to run large computations much faster than in native python. In order to make that possible, it needs to keep its own set of data types that are different from python’s native datatypes, which means you now have two different...

This explanation is pretty clear cut

What exactly is your use case for treating np.bool_ and bool as interchangeable? If np.bool_ isn’t a subclass of bool according to Python itself, then allowing one to be used where the other is expected just seems like it would prevent mypy from noticing bugs that might arise from code that expects a bool but gets an np.bool_ (or vice versa), and can only handle one of those correctly.

mpy and numpy are opensource. You could always implement the fix you need yourself ?

Numpy named it bool_ not base python

The beatles are vastly overrated. They may have been trailblazers at the time but their music really doesn’t hold up

Upvoted because this is the one I most strongly disagree with.

Hitlers art but ignore the holocaust?

Lost Prophets but ignore the lead singers horrifying SA of children?

Kanye West and his anti semitism insanity?

Chris Brown and beating the shit out of women?

R. Kelly and SA a child?

Rowling and her hatred of trans children?

Michael Jackson and his … weird child obsession?

Gary Glitter and his SA?

Its never too late to start learning something! I am sure you are well aware of your learning rate and how it changes as you get older but that doesn’t mean you cannot learn at all.

As a beginner, often Python is recommended as a simpler language to pick up and start learning.

Do you have a goal in mind with what you want to learn? Learning to write code in general is fine, but if you have an idea in mind that you want to program, different languages maybe a better starting point. For example if you want to build a web app browser based, id suggest learning front end tools like javascript. Whereas if its a desktop app you want to build, python would work well.

Or maybe you want to just learn programming as a concept without any specific goals in mind beyond how stuff works?

the challenge with lemmy is its immaturity with moderation, and many instances allowing pretty vile members and communities to flourish, which then spill over into other less extreme communities

breadsmasher,
@breadsmasher@lemmy.world avatar

I have pondered a similar idea.

Maybe something client side, where same named communities get merged into one as a view.

But lemmy to me, who browses /all/new, has a terrible problem with “spam” - valid posts in some cases but one person posting the same thing to 20 communities and overwhelming the feed

What no one mentions about the bear hypothesis

This actually provides we here in the Post-Industrial US immense cause for celebration. All of our lives(Regardless of gender)are so cushy, we have the luxury of devoting days and weeks to mulling over an extremely far fetched hypothetical, the likes of which no one who isn’t living in rural Alaska will likely encounter
