I usually do a standard heel flap and French heel. I can do it by heart and it fits me well. For this pair I decided to go with a band heel, just to do something different, and because it’s easier to stay in pattern if I don’t have to think about gusset decreases.
It fits, but would fit a bit better if I had used a little more than half the stitches to work it, which would have added a little height. I have a somewhat high instep.

Tonight's dessert is a Meyer lemon Japanese chiffon cake!

SO tasty. Although I think the Earl Grey and the chocolate have been my favorites so far.

Next week I think I'm gonna try an orange cake with cardamom.

Someone here (I wish I could remember who) recommended the Stormy Skies Shawl as a project that was relaxing but not boring. I just started one, and I’m finding that assessment accurate.
(If you catch that row of stockinette in the middle of a garter stripe, I’m not calling that a mistake. I’m calling it “variation on a theme”)

I thought I was signed up to receive absentee ballots. When I went online to check a month ago, I was not. So I thought I completed my request. I checked today, still not approved. WTF is up Wisconsin? I never had these issues in the past. If you live in WI, check your registration and absentee request at myvote.wi.gov

Do your children or goods inheritors a huge favor. Recycle, shred, and otherwise sort all your old paperwork. My mother-in-law, rest her soul, retained seemingly every piece of paper across 50+ years of her personal and professional life. I can see why: most of it was useful for a few months to even a decade later. But then 100% pointless for her or anyone else. There's a huge effort to go in and process that…so she didn't. Now her children have put in ~100s of hours in processing it.
