Talking about : We are not creating the amount of C programmers by far that’s necessary to maintain all the garbage that’s out there.

I could write it if pushed (or paid) but what’s the point if the result is going to be fundamentally insecure anyway. Who is even coming into C programming these days?

Die Boelckestraße in -Tempelhof hat jetzt einen sehr schönen durchgehenden Radweg. Bloß ist die Rampe an der Hochbord-Bushaltestelle Rumeyplan zu kurz und darum so steil, dass es sich jedesmal anfühlt, als würde man auf einen kleinen Bordstein oder einen dieser Asphaltflatschen knallen, die an Baustelleneinfahrten aufgeschüttet werden 🤨

My take on the xz supply chain attack is that modern software ecosystems are too complex and have too many individual people involved. The solution is obviously to start a small business employing just enough people to implement an ecosystem from scratch. Everyone at the business should be related by blood or marriage. Quitting or betraying it is punished severely. This is a new idea and no one has ever tried to run a business this way before and it will definitely work

The good news is the answer is literally nothing.

You don't need to create a Mastodon account, all federation from Threads will do is let people who are using Mastodon to follow your Threads account.

This is the next #cassette deck in the queue for refurb. The #JVC KD-85 is a real rarity in the UK, particularly in 'native' 240V form, rather than an import from Japan or the US.

It's a hell of a thing for the #70s (1978) and the #tape transport is one of the best ever made. Definitely a rival for any #Nakamichi I've owned when it comes to playback.

Overhead shot of the internals of the JVC KD-85 cassette deck. It's a sea of circuit boards and the chunkiest tape mech you're likely to come across.
