Sure, better bike infrastructure would be great, but 90% of the people I know wouldn’t ride a bike around the block if their life depended on it.

I’m having this discussion on. Threads. If People aren’t willing to give up drive through lines or traffic, how do you expect them to ride bikes? I honestly think better infrastructure isn’t the first step.

Eye exam complete, flu and Covid vax next. Seems like a good time to swap out the Google icons for non-Google ones.

Nothing sounds worse to me than any kind of audio playback through any phone at volume above 30%.

I really can’t stand it. Leave the room or the house can’t stand it.

My refrigerator makes a beeping sound if one of the doors isn't fully closed. A super handy feature to be sure.

I do think, however, that making the doors close would be better.

@LoneLocust you know, for how much Bosch charged me for this damned thing…

I've heard of stress eating. Is there such a thing as stress learning? Because I think I'm doing it.

donburnside,
@donburnside@mastodon.social avatar

@grammargirl is there a way to change from one to the other? I’d love to have stress learning as a way to deal with stuff!

An hour on Mastodon on Saturday morning makes me feel smarter.

Thank you!

After a few weeks of suffering with brake issues on my eBike, again, I think I have figured it out.

The first set of replacement brakes pads I installed where cheap. Note to self: don't do that again. I replaced them with Tektro Ceramics, cleaned everything, re-aligned the front and back and now it stops like it should, without the tiring, embarrassing, squeal.

Yay! I mended something!

Long way to the gym to end the week? Ab-so-fucking-lutely.

I just swapped organics out. They lasted not very long. I’m hoping I get more mileage out of this set.

Continuing my "read later" collection here. Half way through this one, and there are some great resources for the NA cocktail life.

Just heard my 13-year-old on the Oculus playing Population One shout, “Heeeeeere’s Johnny!”

And I have NO idea how he knows that reference. Like, bro there are LAYERS to that you don’t even understand.

@JetSm00th you should find an old video of Ed saying it, then the scene from the shining. History matters!

This morning's sunrise was worth getting up for. It was fantastic. I also found a place on Lake Superior near my house that I haven't spent much time photographing. I found a bunch of new compositions and features to photograph during the next month while the sun is aligned correctly.

Sure, I thought I'd go check out the new .ing TLD and see what one of those might set me back.

    ahem.

Priority, pre-registration of the name I chose, which was still available, will cost US$4024.99.

    Per. Year.

    ahem.

    I don't need motor.ing. That bad. hell, bicycl.ing is only US$190.

In Windows 10, you have the ability to 'pin' folders to the top of your explorer window. Which is great, except when you open an explorer window, it shows the 'this pc' view, which is at the bottom of the screen. For me, It takes 3 spins of the mouse to get to the 'pinned' folders.

It's been an annoyance of mine since I started using Windows 10.

Early morning airport runs aren’t bad on Saturday. Sent the parents off to Hawaii for 12 days. Hopefully their dog doesn’t die before they get back. Ugh.

Question for the folks that use to track your rides.

With the latest update, I start my ride and my heart rate is showing at least double. That stays around until I almost hit 180bpm, then the heart rate glitches out.

When it comes back, it’s still not right. Anyone else?

    donburnside,
    @donburnside@mastodon.social avatar

@voiceofunreason a Google search tells me that I’m the only one with this problem. Appreciate your comment! (Series 8 here, latest updates).

@luis_in_brief good call. I’ve using the same band for the past three years without issue, but this I will test!

I have also restarted both watch and iPhone. I will restart them once more before I ride tomorrow.
