I need more recs for happy, found family, make-you-smile-and-warm-your-heart type of dramas. I don't mind murder and chaos as long as my people have a happy ending. Recent likes have been #BlossomsInAdversity, #StoryOfKunningPalace, I also liked #JoyOfLife & #MeetYourself.

Thai !
Our daughter-in-law is Thai :)
She had a go with Kdrama for a while, now she watches more Thai productions again.
Not often, working Moms have it busy in Holland too :)
Our tastes are not really similar,so I could use advise for trying some Thai ?
Any tips, not too glossy or flowerboy ?

Oftentimes I am mildly amused that YouTube and Facebook aren't quite sure what language I speak, which country (or continent) I'm in, and other personal details. (But sends me plenty of notifications for the music groups I care about! 🙏)
But when they serve up OCTOPUS pants that only fit on slender people? That's just plain unfair.
(I bought a similar pair with cats on them at the largest size they had, which fit as long as I didn't sit or bend. Or breathe. 😭)
@JillsJoy Still very pleased that I can now watch You Tube, or better "listen" ( To lesser known musical stuff) a complete 1.5 hr without any commercial thanks Linux, Firefox and DickDuckgo.
Today, in the Netherlands, caretakers all over the country dropped work for 2 minutes at 14:00 .
As respect for a colleague who was killed by a patient last month.
Violence against people working in medical jobs, by patients or people connected with them has increased a lot in the last years .
I still have that idea early Kpop is influenced by 60/70's Dutch Pop, specially the girl-bands.They were popular in Japan and S.Korea too.
50 % correct...
Visiting a vintage-vinyl-recordshop in my birthplace Dordrecht cleared things up.
Large influx of youngsters from former Dutch colony Indonesia in 1950' s , already familiar with US-Rock. Almost all Dutch bands had Indonesian blood.
Till present, also on TV.
So, the roots of Kpop are Asian after all 🙂
@jikodesu
I 'm from 1953, was 9 when The Beatles and The Stones suddenly rocked the popular music-world.
The time of breaking free from old traditions. "Free Spirit ! " So, why do I hear so many from my generation expressing views that certainly do not match with the so-called '60's Spirit ?
I grew out of that period long time ago, starting to explore Classical West and further into Traditional Asian, Japan, Korea, Chinese: So much to find there !
The Search goes on, still learning :)
I don't save too many Kdramas on disk anymore.
Delete sometimes if I am sure I won't regret it later.
But Knight Flower is for the keep !
What a good, meticulously made drama this is !
I would like to give the whole team flowers for their work.
I could not make a choice, so I bought them all.
Questions from a Linux-rookie.
I am experimenting with Linux.Mint on an older Windows-10 PC with AMD-processor. From USB-stick OR an old mechanical HDD that has it fully installed.
( I change that disk with the original every time)
Works well, understanding that AMD and apps like Dropbox don't work well. An Intel is needed.
Question is: Can I buy an older Chromebook with Intel Celeron, 32Gb , 4 GB RAM and use Linux with all apps on it ?
( Enough storage on other devices)
@NormanDunbar
No.
I read it on site, posted by someone who is more an expert than I am.
Once I have to use code deeper into Linux , I want to be careful not to wipe out the main disk used in the PC
Everything on that is on a safe back-up already.
Many apps on PC I don't need, most things are done with phone anyway.
But Dropbox I want to be able to use on all the three devices I use.
Thanks for you post .
In 2nd grade, I found a book about USS Constitution in our elementary school library. It was a "5th grade" book, so the librarian had to ask my Mom's permission for me to check it out. 🙄
I read that several times, and it triggered a lifelong love of and fascination with history. Still running strong today!
Encourage your kids' curiosity: you never know where it will lead. 😀
@FiveSeventeen@chessert
We had a basic-school in front of our house. Older neighbor-girl went there. At age 11, they discovered she and her entire class were 2 years behind with reading. ( Bad teacher).
They were advised to go to special education.
She refused and took action all on her own .
Like Baron von Munchausen she pulled herself out of the mud. 7 years later becoming teacher in Dutch and German language in highschool.
Plus a successful advisor for kids with learning problems.
@AnnaAnthro
Mistake, sorry.
I meant Go Youn-Jung , Naksu in AoS-2.
On MDL some doubt that, others say it is confirmed.
Hong Sisters seem to step away from getting rather new people in the cast, but well-known instead.
Anyway, the will to be in a HS-drama seems to be strong for rookies and veterans by tradition.
It's s funny.
In the first two episodes , there is no straight plan for revenge. But opportunities are created and she uses them.
Gong Min- Jung in a similar role like in Hometown Cha Cha Cha. As the witty colleague here , or the bright assistant in HCC
@AnnaAnthro
I spend 2 years in London 1975, working in catering jobs on Euston and King's Cross.
With befriended colleagues swimming in the Serpentine on days off.( 1975:was very hot and dry year in UK)
Great feel: "Yeah, we live here, we are not tourists !".
Don't think the swimsection is still there.
We still like to visit UK, but not the big cities.
But perhaps they will make a Kdrama there ?
" Murder on the Serpentine", " Tea for Three " , something like that ? #london#korea#HydePark
Supermarkets have ruthlessly hiked the prices of low-alcohol beer just in time for Dry January. Analysis by The Grocer magazine found that the average cost of nine popular booze-free brands, including Birra Moretti Zero and Guinness Draught 0.0, is up 22.3% since the start of December.
@peturdainn@countcol
I had to look it up, never heard about it.
I am a very moderate drinker.
But I started my career at Euston-st. behind the bar in the '70's, the Irish teaching me to use a dry glass for "G", or fill up the same. Still a favorite for me.
Many years on continental trains in catering. There was a bit of imbibing there sometimes 🙂
Moersleutel: That must be good, seeing the prices. But 1 pintsize equals with almost 4 glasses of wine. Classical music, sit down, relax 🙂 #British
