Thing I just learned: When Gloria Hunniford started at Radio 2 in the 80s, they had to install women's toilets in the building. Until then, there had only been male presenters because the theory was that women listening would "want the comfort of a male voice because they'd be missing their husband when he was at work" 🤯

Also I can't imagine it was men who were answering the phones and cleaning the toilets, so presumably those women didn't warrant a toilet of their own
