It still blows my mind that the last “Bovril Boats” didn’t stop operating in the Thames until 1998. 1998 ! Their job was to take Lordon’s sewage down the Thames from Beckton and to dump it into the North Sea (but oh, on the ebb tide, so that was ok). Dumping anything in the ocean is an admission that our systems on land have failed, but in this case it was failure by design. We cannot continue to treat the ocean like this. #ocean #sewage

@Edent I was tempted by the eInk screen but ended up accidentally buying a Bangle.js instead (special offer)! The screen isn't quite as nice but it has a daylight readable lcd which works really well. The watch is also a tad more practical based on your video. The docs/examples/etc. for creating your own apps are great, and being able to host your own appstore on github pages is fantastic. I still like the idea of an eink watch though!

@sldrant it doesn't show status as such. It wakes up when you press a button, and has a configurable delay between publishing temperature and humidity, so hopefully battery life should be good.

@sldrant you could reduce the sensor interval to pick up changes more often, but that would reduce battery life- it defaults to 30 minutes.

There’s a growing trend (I noticed) of physical stores asking for an email address to send a transaction receipt… without disclosing that this then puts you onto a marketing mailing list. Very annoying, and deceitful.

@andypiper the (other) thing that annoys me about it is that there could be an open standard for e-receipts, which could be cryptographicly signed by shops for some actual proof of purchase instead of some largely pointless email that arrives with added spam. P.S. just don't mention the blockchain. I did once but I think I got away with it.
