Was halten Sie denn vom liberalen Feminismus?

• In meinen Augen ist das, was sich liberaler Feminismus nennt, kein Feminismus.

Warum nicht?

• Wenn ich von Feminismus spreche, meine ich damit eine Bewegung, die antikapitalistisch ist. Feminismus anerkennt nach meiner Auffassung, dass wir die Lage der Frauen und der ausgebeuteten Arbeitenden nicht ändern können, wenn wir das System nicht ändern. Feminismus anerkennt, dass unser Gesellschafts­system grundsätzlich auf der Ausbeutung menschlicher Arbeit beruht, auf der privaten Anhäufung von Reichtum. Und dass wir zwar gewisse Reformen herbei­führen können, aber keine substanziellen Veränderungen. Deswegen ist liberaler Feminismus letztlich das Gegen­teil von Feminismus. Denn er will das System beibehalten, das uns unterdrückt.

So the few times I've been to the US - once to California (which admittedly is different, on vacation rather than work), once to Corpus Christi, once to Arkansas (near Memphis) - I found myself boggling at how much open asphalt there was between stores.

I wondered if it was just because they had the space to expand, so they just did. It didn't occur to me that there were minimum parking rules. It was always very easy to park. Everywhere looked sort of empty/unpopular.

One odd thing I observed on CSD and the after party I attended was just how many people asked for my #instagram when they wanted to keep in touch with me.

When I said I had no instagram, they usually asked me for my number.

Which made me realise just how many people use instagram as their primary communications platform.

I wish more people, especially those in the #queer community, would realise how risky it is to use a private platform as their main way to reach all their friends.
