Did another Mac thing! After a false start last night, is now up and running. And it's blummin' fast for an old girl.

Best part is, it turns out the fastest processor this Mac can take is like £15-20 on eBay. That plus a bit of extra RAM will make this into a tidy little performer. (Not a Performa, sadly.) (Also not that little.)

Quiet enough to keep in the living room, too.

It's somewhat frustrating that I have 32GB of perfectly usable DDR3 RAM, but the Mac won't boot with it in - either because it's not ECC, or it's slightly too fast. Poopins.

I took all our old dvds and cds and organized them in a binder (sorry. Not keeping the cases).

@Bogusmeatfactory My dad did the CD thing! Except he also kept the cases. And all his burnt discs from like 2003. And all the dodgy printed covers for them, still in their totally legit cases. I don't get it.

Just look at this burger stand! Ignore the fact that it's selling sandwiches (no sides) for $10 on top of an already overzealous ticket price.

@PixelBandits There's a neat little trick in RollerCoaster Tycoon, whereby if a guest is already queueing for a ride, they'll pay to get on no matter what (assuming they have enough cash on hand). So you can reduce a ride's cost to, like, 10p a ticket; then when you have dozen of people in the queue, pop it up to £10 or even higher!

Finally sorted out shelving for my collection! It's stacked two boxes deep, so there are roughly twice as many games as you see here (200-ish in all).
Eventually I'll get another unit like this and so I can have the rest out and on display, but this is better than nothing!

...now I just have to put a curtain up so they don't get all sunbleached 😅

    @textfiles I applaud the effort here! I will say, though, that you don't really get a true sense of just how bad the GameCom was until you see it in its original blur-o-vision. The graphics look positively quaint without it!

    I may be in the market for a new laptop soon. My current one is bugging out on me. I'd like something solid, not huge, and don't mind going second-hand.
