Well, I got the current script fully edited and such. Going to do a render, and then hopefully do the conclusions and everything tomorrow.

Might actually have this done by tomorrow.

Would my video count as adversing as far as the four clause BSD license is concerned ...

Cause you know ... this is one of the reasons why people had problems with early BSD and the four clause license

I realistically wonder what it would take to get unixbench or similar running on OpenBSD/arm64 ...

Waking up with your car surrounded in traffic cones is a great way to start the day.

ncommander,
@ncommander@restless.systems avatar

@sayartyler No ticket. I think the house I parked in front of was upset and put the cones around it to get me to move.

It's a legal spot, but you know, I don't want my car fucked with, and I found somewhere else to park.

So just heard a new type of scam literially done on my neighbor. The guy posed as the local utility worker, and got the bill, and then added himself to the neighor's iDevice FaceID.

I saw this scam in the past, but he managed to hook my neigherbor. I wasn't able to stop that, but I warned them shortly afterwards, and told them to reset FaceID and be careful.

Sometimes all you can do ...

@luk1337 I assume they use another iDevice to log in and access iCloud from there. The scammer asked to see the utility bill to make sure you were getting green power.

(I heard the start of it, but when I realized he hooked, I went outside. Couldn't stop the actual scam, but I at least managed to give warning).

EDIT: I think FaceID is per device (I don't use ipersonally), but I think more so you can just access to a utility bill.

@luk1337 like he basically asked to see the utility bill and more. They tried this at my unit a few months ago,, and its very aggressive salesman like tactics.

@pilif I didn't see that part, I just saw him doing the face enrollment step when I wen tinto the hallway.

So it looks like OpenBSD/arm64 on a M2 mac has some really weird spinlock issues. I have't decided if I really want to debug this, but it's interesting trying out the ARM ports of everything.

ncommander,
@ncommander@restless.systems avatar

@greatquux Likely a combination of both, but I'd have to setup a profiling build of openbsd to find out.

@ncommander@restless.systems avatar

Oh this sucked to do, but there's now a copy of the OpenBSD source code on github with all the branches and tags: https://github.com/NCommander/openbsd-src-with-branches

It's currently a oneshot since you have to EDIT the ,v files to get them to import, but if people care, I could possibly do this as a recurring one.

It didn't occur to me that disk IO on OpenBSD might be an order of matitude slower than Mac OS until I just tried the later for shits and giggles sake ...

What converting OpenBSD CVS to git does to your laptop ... (it already OOMed once)

Watch it live: https://youtube.com/live/d4xm_Fdq3JM?feature=share

ncommander,
@ncommander@restless.systems avatar

I got a stream suggestion to use cvs-faster-export instead of cvs2git, which does seem faster but it OOMed, but I also had to modify the ,v files to ge cvs2git to actually load the repo, so if I do this for anything more than a one-shot, I'll have to experiment on the best way to do this.

I dunno if there' mush use for this, but I'd probably be willing to setup the stuff to do this semi-regularly if there's want/need.

am I really going to do some work fixing test suite bugs for NetBSD/vax ...

Like I've got NetBSD/evbarm loaded in a VM to figure out how ATF works. At least this is a way to start closing that resume gap ...

At the end of the day, I suppose the only thing we truly leave behind are memories.

One of the very few things that we as individuals can control is how we act towards others.

In the end, if all we are destind to be are memory of someone else after our passing, at least try to make it a kind one, and not a cruel one ...

On the down side, I have misplaced a car key. O the plus side, my apartment is much cleaner than its been in awhile.

Pretty optimistic it will turn up. It may be in the car itself, so I'll have to go check when the sun is up.

Went out to load another box, and found it in the driver foot well. Yay.
