Steps on how to be a “cool” left leaning liberal:
Complain about the luxurious lifestyle you have in the diverse democratic republic you live in. Accuse other diverse democratic republics of committing genocide when they go to war regardless of any facts (feels only please). Back groups that commit terrorism with the goal of establishing an ethnostate because “reasons.”
Rinse and repeat to keep being “cool.”

Someone told me that Hamas is irrelevant to the war going on in Gaza. I honestly don’t know how to reply to that in a forthright way. It’s just mind boggling.

Even though the Nazis were trying to keep the camps secret from even Germans uninvolved with the operations they kept first class records of everything because it was a military operation. I have no idea how anyone could look at all of the records that they kept and the evidence presented by literally everyone else who has been able to dig into these camps and say “Oh, man, I would really like to believe you but you don’t have any PHOTOS of Jews being killed in the showers!” WTAF?

This is such an important article. I hope people read it.

There is a ceasefire proposal in front of Hamas, one drafted by Arab nations, and Hamas is rejecting it. It would rather see the war continue and the Gazans hurt or killed, rather than provide a reprieve.

Maybe that's because Hamas leadership isn't in Gaza. They live elsewhere, in other countries far away from the fighting, and yet on the ground, Hamas runs Gaza.

What Israel should or should not do, or how it should conduct the war is absolutely a question on the table, but fundamentally a ceasefire must be two ways, a ceasefire from both sides, and if Hamas does not accept one for the sake of the Palestinian people, then it's they should should be attacked by the media.

Gaza must be freed from Hamas so the people there can live full lives, and for the possibility of peace.

@serge Wow, just looking at a couple of the comments below this. Are these people for real? “Hamas exists because of Israel.” What an incredibly ignorant statement. “I fail to see how bombing to dust…” Just, wow, also astonishing. The continued ignorance on this topic is beyond belief. You know who is intentionally misleading with such exaggerated and inaccurate statements.
P.S. - I learned as a CHILD to ask questions before pretending to know anything about anything. Some people could really incorporate this into their lives.

@Bam Hamas cannot even return forty hostages apparently. I am pretty sure all of the hostages, assuming that there are still any, that they can keep track of, are in poor health.

@dannotdaniel Sounds like some crackpot nonsense that leads to everything talking via connections by mycelium receiving bouncing broadcasts off of the moon from the sun. But that’s not all! The sun is connected to the center of the galaxy by a wormhole found at its core that the Sumerians used as a passageway from the realm of Marduk for which all of knowledge transcendentally is derived from the dark waters surrounding the big blackhole sun!

    @DemocracySpot I awoke to darkness. Couldn’t make out anything except for what I believe was a full moon and some lights a short distance away. The fog started to clear in my head.
    “I think I was poisoned with that drink she gave me!” I thought.
    Earlier that evening I had met a beauty at the tavern at the bay. She brought me a green glowing drink. Of course, I accepted it. Guess, I wasn’t thinking with the right head.
    “Muahahahahaha!” a shrill voice cackled behind me causing me to stumble onto the ground.

    @paninid @FrankFrank Two things: By non-zionist we mean completely ignorant on the topic of zionism much less anything related to the culture nor history of the region. These people would blindly side with General Custer if they lived in that time.
    The other thing is that the IDF isn’t a bunch of baby killers. I have never seen such extensive care taken for a hostile population in my life. There is way too much misinformation floating around from the “electric intifada” doubly mixed by westerners who don’t have any grasp of reality.

    @paninid @FrankFrank The political atmosphere in Israel is NOT simple. A lot of people are displeased with Netanyahu and friends but a lot of people are super sick of the narrative that Palestinians are infantile victims of Israel. The Islamists normally hate Israelis. It isn’t news if they call all Jews rats and they should die. However, if an IDF soldier calls Hamas rats it’s international news. The Israelis have mixed feelings about Palestinians.

    What do you do with people who are dead set on genocide? That’s been the Islamist line forever. They casually assert their right to genocide and when Israel actually responds to their hostilities Israel gets shit on. This whole Israel is genocidal is ludicrous.

    Ok, I'm on an 80s binge. 1990 counts. So I watched Tremors tonight. Distinctly remember seeing it at the Galleria in St. Louis when it came out and did not need to see it again, I thought. I was mostly right. What I did appreciate was the model work and the camera work. Together they gave you a sense that the (canvas?) monster was more menacing.
