@saxnot I have heard, 2nd hand, that the ability to not call failed projects a failure is part of what drove many start up founders to be able to try multiple times and not be judged. A grace that should be extended to all people trying a project of any kind.
It's ironic that we think we believe "forever" to be the ultimate goal while our society instead celebrates things like private equity, the stock market as a measure of economic wellness, and change for the sake of change in everything from UIXs to politics to branding. Oh, and ignoring all the things that prevent long term stability. It feels like gaslighting on a societal scale?

B. "Traffic crashes kill 1.3 million people per year or 3500 people per day, and they are the eighth‑leading cause of death globally"
Laughing at #VisionPro users doesn't really make sense in my eyes.
Talking to "nobody" was "weird" when mobile phones were invented.
Even more so when hands-free earpieces became a thing.
Now people are looking at things only they can see. It's not so much different.
I'm pretty indifferent towards Apple and the Vision Pro. Personally I think it will have the same hype and death as Google Glass. But what do I know. Surely Apple has reason to believe otherwise
And the protection spell is created by checks notes love.
So apparently the murder of Lily Potter is the first time Voldemort murdered someone who loved someone else.
And no matter in which order the parents were murdered they apparently did not love each other. Thanks, JKR.
Who the...
what the... fuck.
it took less than 20 seconds to see the obvious flaw with this concept. And this is just one of the thousands of rules/ideas which create world building. And it's incredibly plot relevant!
@saxnot
What do you expect from someone who ripped off "The Books of Magic" from Neal Gaiman? All the way down to the 12 year old with a lightning bolt scar, an owl familiar, and the train ride to the magic school.
For example JavaEE defines "JPA", which means Java Persistence API.
The framework #Hibernate came to be the clear victor of this field. JPA 2.0 is just "you're compliant if you use Hibernate terminology and behave like Hibernate" which... basically defines Hibernate to be THE impl of JPA 2.0
Hibernate is not a result of JavaEE
e. g. Spring Framework uses Hibernate for a very long time called Spring Data.
Remind me why exactly is Anime considered embarrassing? And/or being a fan of Anime etc?
I know weeabos and they're normal people. I went to #Japantag in Düsseldorf and it seemed quite okay (ngl pretty expensive and boring at the same time I WONT be visiting again).
The internet agreed that things like Anime or Furry or MLP are cringe. I can't see it. Why is it cringe?
