Yes, yes, Khruangbin vibes, etc. Interesting interstitials that gives this an all-in-one-night throughline.

Continued groove and Malian-influenced guitar (along with many others) make this, well, what you'd expect. But also what'd you'd want.

(Still don't get why some call them psychedelic, though.)

Love the (hard to protect well) day-to-night package. Pressing pretty bit a bit noisy...

Like many people, I had my Apple ID locked last night, and it was a big hassle trying to get it unlocked and working again.

One tip - when you go through all the rigmarole to get it going again, one thing that doesn't switch on by default is receiving iMessages or FaceTime calls via your Apple ID. So, like me, you will probably be missing messages until you reenable those in Settings. Also, if you send somebody a new iMessage it will default to your phone number which may not be what you want.

@jamesthomson how did you become aware that your AppleID had been locked? Also (calls for speculation), do you think this glitch has anything to do with how the AppleID is being “replaced” soon?

@jamesthomson yeah, it does sound like it should just be a renaming of everything. But “software update of some kind on the back end” on a Friday sounds like a recipe for disaster

This piece on 60 Minutes was startling. I knew the Nazis had occupied the Channel Islands, but I had no idea what happened on Alderney.

I hope there's a reckoning when the British government releases the report mentioned in this piece, next month.

Separately, I love that there's a British politician named Lord Pickles. Sounds like a good name for a cat.

@flargh I went to Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Alderney and Herm in 1994. I visited the tunnel that the Nazis used on Jersey, but I’d not heard anything else about the occupation apart from that. Interesting though
