Note: I made this post on a private ish server. Am merely copy pasting this to show how good Misskey is to people who see my account. I'm doing this as this is gonna be public so people who don't have accounts can see it

Misskey is Amazing

See on a surface level once you join misskey from another fediverse instance you probably notice two things:

  1. The character limit is higher (it's 3000 btw)
  2. It looks colorful and flashy with all those moving emoji and text.

However it's so much more than that! Misskey has so many features that the level of customization you get from it feels so good!
And you probably wouldn't even know what it can do if you just use the 'basic' stuff!

I'll list the cooler shit:
1)MFM. Basically advanced text formatting. you can do shit like this ... and more!

2)You ever noticed that you can open mutliple windows on the same internet tab? Try it out now! it's great to respond to mutliple posts without having to switch through tabs!

  1. You can favorite notes! This acts like a bookmark for shit you like! best part is, the OP of a note doesn't get notified, so you can keep it completely private!

  2. You can even customize the sidebar! don't like the explore feature being there? well you can remove it and replace it with something else! like favorites or profile icon

  3. Clips is a feature to group notes! it's like favorites where you can gather notes under a group. However you can make multiple of them, name them and make them public! Want people to see a certain collection of notes under one link, well you can do that!

  4. There's also Misskey Play! You can make your own coding scripts and run them natively in misskey! you can design shit like calculators and tools and all

  5. Channels! While there's not much english documentation about them, they seem to act like groups. Potential groups in the fediverse!

  6. Antenna! want to see notes with a certain keyword, like "gaming" or "anime"? Well you can do that with antennas!

  7. You can even save your settings in preferences backup! ever get the problem that whenever you login from a different device, your settings get reset? Well you can solve that problem by saving it! and then you can load those settings on any device!

I know I sound like a marketer and some people don't really care about these features, but I don't mind. These features are so goddamn fun!
Genuinely when I came here I thought it would just be like "Japanese Mastodon" but it actually blows my mind with what you can do here!
Someone should take these features and apply them to macroblogging lmao

I implore anyone reading this to try this shit out! if you're from an instance that doesn't have features similar to misskey you don't know what you're missing! Come on, it's a lot of fun!!!

@Lessgoo I'm glad you're enjoying the mostly notable features!
You see, #misskey was born before #fediverse, although implementing compatibility, it keeps own chan soul.
Chans were kind of guestbooks/forums during the early 00s.
Today we have federated chans, reactions quotations, channels, antennas, lots of useful stuff that other software, like mastodon does, can't implement at the same speed of our beloved core developers.
There's no commercial company behind Misskey core development, all the good the community does, it's for the sake 🍶 of the software's evolution itself, and by reflection, for the community. Thanks for joining us!

Da mesi non cagavo minimamente — e ora non è che la cosa cambierà, nel senso, ormai sono abituata con sto WordPress per diffondere per via internettica i miei dannosi pensieri e andrà bene così — e a quanto pare la nuovissima novità innovativa è che ci sono i ora. Un po’ hanno il sapore di quelli stile Facebook/Telegram, ci sono i punteggi e le classifiche d’istanza; dall’altro lato sono curiosi, perché sono proprio a tema del (credo però che per ora non siano espandibili, ci sono quelli dei mantenitori e basta). E sono due, “Bubble Game” e Reversi: il primo sta già causando dipendenza patologica nel , il secondo sembra non filarselo nessuno (forse perché è esclusivamente multiplayer?). 🎰️

E in realtà tecnicamente c’erano già dei prima, quelli invece programmabili da chiunque tramite AiScript, ma è altra roba. Un tempo volevo fare una recensione approfondita di questa che secondo me è ancora la più epica, poi mi passò completamente di testa… e magari approfondire queste parti un po’ più bizantine potrebbe essere un’occasione per farlo. 🤭️

In passato c'erano stati alcuni problemi di federazione che non consentivano agli utenti Misskey di aprire nuovi thread ma almmassimo di rispondere a thread già aperti.

E intanto il cresce sempre meglio... 😁

Quello che hai citato sarebbe il link per leggere il profilo sulla istanza che lo gestisce, affinché si abbia una fruizione completa di tutti i dati che esso ha federato, Rinota, reazioni, conversazioni.

Many people seem still unaware of just how bad Chrome Sync is for your privacy. By default, Chrome will sync all your data – including e.g. your passwords, bookmarks, browsing history and open tabs. And by default, Chrome will not encrypt any of this data. All of it will be accessible by Google, by anyone who subpoenas Google to turn up your data and whoever else managed to get access to these servers.

If you want this data encrypted before it is first uploaded, you need to click “Settings” instead of confirming sync, then expand “Encryption options” and set up a sync passphrase. The default option “Encrypt synced passwords with your Google Account” is essentially a disguised “We can access all your data but we promise not to look. Don’t you trust us?”

The only positive aspect here: Chrome Sync used to be a lot worse. It used to enable automatically when you signed into Chrome. It used to encrypt only passwords and none of the other data even if you set up a passphrase. It used to warn you when setting a passphrase because Google’s web services would no longer be able to access your passwords. It used to upload data without encryption first, only allowing to enable encryption after the fact. And its encryption used to be horribly broken. But even now, Chrome Sync requires you to take action in order to get privacy. Because Google knows that you won’t. Compare that to Firefox Sync which has always been encrypting all data by default. I criticized the implementation here as well, but that was really a minor issue compared to the mess which is Chrome Sync.

Questa mattina ci siamo svegliati con che in Giappone era già giorno 🥱
Nel paese del Sol Levante è famoso quanto , se non di più.
Quindi, oggi, il server ufficiale misskey.io ha ricevuto una quantità di visite e iscrizioni mai viste. Anche noi abbiamo ricevuto principalmente iscrizioni da esuli di giapponesi.

In italia stanno tutti fissati con mastodon ma si tratta di un software per il con alcune limitazioni.
Prima fra tutte, il limite dei caratteri disponibili, impedisce dialoghi approfonditi.

Su mastodon non si possono mandare reazioni diverse da una stellina ⭐ , qui invece abbiamo centinaia di emoji.
Anche qui abbiamo le liste e i preferiti, in più abbiamo i canali, che sono simili ai thread di un forum, simili a quelli di e .
Con le Clip possiamo raggruppare Note a piacere, come Help Desk che raccoglie le nostre F.A.Q.
Abbiamo gallerie fotografiche, ma soprattutto, le Antenne, che meglio delle ricerche "hashtag" permettono di creare timeline con regole personalizzate (non solo hashtag)

Misskey Social ha le caratteristiche migliori che gli altri software del fediverso non hanno!
