Abigail Thorn sure does have a hoodie on in her preview for the next PT. It's, um... got an image.

Either this is an esoteric reference to a sci fi thing I've missed, or it's a pretty clear reference to a kink thing that's hard to miss.

I feel a MIGHTY NEED to infodump on one of my favourite physics puzzles!

What would win - an unstoppable force or an immovable object?

We've got to define a few things.

If a force is unstoppable, it must be a physical thing, because force requires mass. If it's unstoppable, it means that its velocity cannot be changed. It's just going to keep going no matter what.

If an object is immovable, it must be a physical thing with mass. And it can't be moved, so its velocity cannot be changed.

    Today's lecture involves depictions of queerness as threat I'm media....so I tried to express "not queer as in gay, but queer as in a threat" today 😈

    One of the magical things about being trans and out it that, just by existing, you're going to help other people figure out how to embrace that part of themselves. We're everywhere! But... we're often pretty scared.

    Okay, so a few days ago, I made several posts about how I was pretty upset about Mastodon and the way a good chunk of the Fedi culture convulses from time to time.

    Anyway, I'm dorking around on Bluesky this morning waiting for the caffeine to come online and I stumble across a post--now a fucking website--full of signs made as a direct response to the culture on the Fediverse I was talking about.

    There's a part of healing and recovery in medical transition that doesn't get talked about very much: sticking to Doctor's Orders, especially in surgical recovery. That's why outcomes are often so good at places like the Suporn Clinic and FacialTeam--not just their surgical expertise, but weeks of dedicated postoperative care, that ensures patient adherence.

    Only thing i can add is that it is perfectly valid to do this alone.

    Having someone be there for you during a surgery, during recovery, is a rare privilege.

    You don't have to put your life on hold and delay and wait on these procedures while desperately looking for someone, anyone.

    You will have to prepare more extensively and have backup plans and not misjudge your capabilities.

    But you can still do it. Take your time, but don't wait needlessly.

    Really not making the case to not leave the Fediverse for Bsky. It ain't perfect, but at least it's not full of those assholes, and subscribable block lists are a hell of a feature.

    @Impossible_PhD Hm, having been on both for some time, i feel like bsky is less chaotic in technical and political sense, so far, while community is much better over here (i do thrive in chaos, however, so ymmv).

    Not giving any advice, just adding a data point to your thinking jar.

    @RickiTarr @auscandoc @lisamelton Funny thing is i got confused for a moment there, since i'm used to hearing things like "geo-engineering" in the context of ways of fixing climate change. So momentarily it read to me like "you listen to rodents and ignore scientists".

    Trans girls be like, "Ugh, I don't see any difference from before transition and now. " Then they post before and after photos, and it will be a gorgeous goddess of a woman or intensely cute and gleeful girl next to a photo clearly stolen from some rando on the internet of a dude who hasn't heard of skincare looking angry and confused as to how he is in this girl's photos.

    @jessica @JoscelynTransient Heh, yeah. The quantity have a quality of it's own. I took more selfies in last year than there were known photos of me in previous 3+ decades. Including stacks of baby photos my photo enthusiast dad made.

    @Impossible_PhD It does make you wonder, how many just never get to realise. I wondered if was nonbinary at one point, and there are few if any transfem enby stories told or experiences shared. So you just default to binary and leave the wondering for later-never.
