"Just use Linux" is much like "just ride a bike" or "just shop at a refill store" - accessing the non default option can be time consuming, expensive or unavailable locally. We need to recognise you need a certain degree of privilege to have the capacity to complicate your life voluntarily. We need to be trying to make the better, harder thing more accessible, not blaming people for not using it.

in this case a linux computer isn't more expensive; it may actually be cheaper. the barrier is real, but it's more about the knowledge resources and one's confidence in using them than in the price.

Antwort auf einen privaten Kommentar zu meinem letzten Toot (1): Genau auf diese Fokussierung von @derStandard auf wollte ich hinaus, bzw. auf die Skandalisierung ihres berichteten Fehlverhaltens. Dabei kommt zu kurz, welche Rolle sie als Aktivistin spielte und spielt. Sie wird verkleinert – wie mir vorkommt, mit Absicht.

@heinz @derStandard derstandard fährt einerseits immer wieder seltsame kampagnen (vgl.: streckenweise jeden ausritt vom doskozil gg. rendi-wagner, dann gg. babler minutiösest berichtet), andererseits kommen bei den grünen immer wieder leute mit ausgeprägter ellbogenkompetenz nach vorne. ich glaube, ich darf beides nicht mögen. (und da ich lange vor der listenwahl vor hatte, tom waitz die vorzugsstimme zu geben, ändert die geschichte für mich eh nichts).

@c_ozwei @heinz @derStandard es ist aber bei der Grünen leider kein Einzelfall, dass sehr ungute Taktiken gegen Kolleg:innen belohnt werden. Ich habe gerade wegen dieser immer wieder ausbrechenden internen Unkultur den Versuch aufgegeben, Mitglied dieser Partei zu sein. Für mich der letzte Strohhalm war die Ausbootung der Birgit Hebein. Das war für mich eine unterirdisch schäbige Aktion. Eine Partei, die Diversität, Solidarität und Inklusion predigt darf so nicht mit Menschen umgehen.

@c_ozwei @random_musings @heinz @derStandard Eine andere Wahlmöglichkeit gibts für mich eh nicht. Ich bin der lehrbuchmäßige Kernwähler. Als solcher tat ich aber manchmal gern wählen gehen ohne das Gefühl, ich krieg davon ein Magengeschwür.

Und als EU-Zugereister würde ich schon gern eine Partei mit europäischer Gesinnung bei der Europawahl wählen können. Und es gibt hier keine einzige solche. Auch die Grünen nicht.

@c_ozwei @heinz Meine vorletzte Versammlung war die mit dem Putsch derJungen Grünen gegen Eva Glawischnig, das war wohl 2017. Die letzte war die danach, als man versuchte, wieder zur "Normalität" überzugehen. Aber diese kam am ende einer lange Reihe von Versammlungen, bei denen ich mich von einem Mal zum nächsten nie ausgekannt habe, wer gerade "in" und "out" sein sollte oder warum.

@c_ozwei @heinz Ich war quasi Zaungast von 10 Jahren Streit und Intrigen. Diskussionen stören mich nicht. Was mich stört ist die Unkultur, die ich in der Art erlebt habe, wie Leute hinter vorgehaltener Hand übereinander reden und die vereinsmeierischen Manöver, mit denen sie gegeneinander agiert haben. Vielleicht bin ich eine zu zarte Pflanze für Parteipolitik. Aber ich bin nur dort zu Hause, wo der Umgang miteinander besser ist.

@vera 1) kommt darauf an, wie gut du dafür gerüstet bist u. wieviel Routine du damit hast. Mit guten Regensachen ist's machbar. 2) Es regnet nicht 24/7 und du radelst nicht 24/7 3) Zumindest richtig kalt wird's wohl nicht?

@vera wenns wirklich tagelang nass ist, ist die Frage, wie viele Tage du durchältst, bis alles unerträglich stinkt und gewaschen weerden muss. Und dann brauchst halt eine Wasch- und Trockengelegenheit. Aber es ist selten so ununterbrochen nass.

In Brüssel tummeln sich Lobbyisten und Privilegienritter. Über 9.000 Euro brutto monatlich + Spesen + Reisekosten + Sitzungsgelder kassieren die EU-Abgeordneten von ÖVP, SPÖ, FPÖ, Grünen und NEOS.

Eine Stimme von unten ist im EU-Parlament nötiger denn je.

Mein Eindruck: Müsste die #Politik den überwiegenden Teil der Regelungen/#Gesetz|e, die sie schaffen will, ausprogrammiert (Software Quellcode) vorlegen, würde so manche Regelung wohl nie beschlossen werden. Vor allem, wenn sie es selbst finanzieren müsste.

@mene @kurb70 was ich im bundesministerium in wien mitbekommen habe: der aufwändigste teil der legistik ist die suche/abfrage nach verknüpfungen und auswirkungen in verbindung mit anderen gesetzen.
