Have you ever heard of (OSB) for ?

They're one of the better thematic browsers for @osm , like when you're trying to find features in the same class (e.g. all cafes in a given area.)

The OSB dev recently updated the Walking Amenties "Quality Control" category to highlight map features according to their "completeness".

Dark blue are "perfect" 😉 items, cyan has the recommended tags, and red miss important tags.

@MapAmore @osm Oh my god, no I did not! I just tried it out and immediately discovered a great looking indian restaurant in my area! The stuff that doesn't show you...

Yay!🎉 a̶w̶e̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ @osm find! What was the favorite dish you got to try?

I would think that whoever added that POI would love to hear that. Maybe they frequent the place, too.

@MapAmore @osm I like OpenStreetBrower, its a useful tool to see what mapping has been done in an area, but also the best site I've found for 'restaurants near here', 'which swimming pool is closest to me' or 'where are the densest charity shop areas' type queries.

Often, I share OSM POIs using OpenStreetBrowser, to highlight to similar features that are available in an area, without having to mention Overpass Turbo, or end-up confusing them more by sending them to OSM. :mastogrin:

If I know that the user expects a need for routing, I might use instead.

I suppose I (often) take the extra effort to avoid sending users to proprietary maps. 😆

My favorite secret option is that if one clicks on the geometry link, it actually triggers a intent, and will ask the user to select a compatible mapping app (e.g. Gmaps) already installed their device, and not necessarily data consumers.

@MapAmore @osm

A geometry link is encircled in magenta, when looking at POI details of a feature in OpenStreetBrowser. Clicking on the link, the system will try to open a compatible app available on the device.
